It's pretty normal practice for the team captain to at least say something at the player of the year awards.

The guy has played for you for 5 years and wanted to make it 6.

I do think he deserves a bit of respect and gratitude for what he has done for Rovers in his time there.

I suspect many Rovers fans think the same, but obviously the regime does not.

I am well pleased with him signing for us, I know he has had some injuries last year but who didn't on both sides and he was always a real pain in the bum when he played against us.

I think he will be great mentor and brings with him lots of experience, thanks for not wanting him.

If I can defend the club, generally I will. This was clear error of judgement, IMO.

i think a few of the players might start getting ed off with the club the way we are treating great servants like galea.

no ones bigger then the club and that includes the B.O.D. he shouldve been given some recognition from them.

Benny G WAS wanted by Rovers,we offered him a deal,Ben didn't accept what we offered him,so he decided to retire.
Personally I think Rovers have made the correct decision on Ben,but only time will tell if we have.

I think by virtue of the reduction in the offer, it was a token effort rather than a realistic one.

He was a model pro who clearly loved your club for the 5 yrs he played, your club did not meet what he felt he was worth regarding another contract, he retired but was then offered a deal with another club, pro player is a short lived career & clearly he has been given an opportunity to carry on earning. It is hardly the Cookiesaga is it, nothing underhand has happened here, just a bloke who clearly loves the game & wants to earn a few more quid.
