| One thing HKR seem to have and have had for years is a good overseas recruitment.time and time again we have signed relative unkowns, some at the start of their career , some who want to prove their worth and return back to NRL.Overall I would say we recruit well. I am sure Cs and Neil Hudgell operating within salary /budget constraints will find replacements for all the guys who are moving on.
This season is approaching the interesting part, we have a team who like any other group, will want to go out with a bang to remember their days together, the next weeks will be happy ones for KR fans.
The RL game itself is operating as normal in crisis mode, we have a fantastic sport played by magnificent athletes watched by passionate loyal fans, but what we do not have is lots of money.
At club level I am happy that people like NH are willing to invest in some thing with no return, they are actaully uber fans and should be recognised as such, I fear for teams who are investing heavily with only two chances of success, Grand final win or Challenge Cup.

The June 30th deadline for Dobbo certainly but I think in all honesty it wasn't expected that he would get an offer from back home.
Only getting a one year deal at short notice shows he may be heralded as one of the best SH is SL but back home he will be a squad player.
I reckon one of the Rovers board are heading down under in the next 2-3 weeks to secure a new number 7 and a couple of forwards.

Well come new one I will get in before Sandra well comes you,one of the best we ever got was Gavin Miller no body had heard of him infact when me and a mate of mine first saw him we said he looked like a monkey but the guy went on to win the man of steel I think he was the first overseas player to win it

| Plenty of shopping to do & plenty of quota / non fed space as well. Possibly looking at an outside back, scrum-half, hooker / half-back, 2 props & 2 back-rowers. Wish the OOC lists looked more inspiring.

| Why do we need a new hooker? Hodgson and carlile are here if withers go. We need a prop a 7 and another 2nd rower at a minimum. Has anyone heard any rumours that actually have a chance of being true

Remember though that Dobson, Withers and O'Hara are all currently non-fed exempt. Paterson's likely and Paea's confirmed departure free up 2 spots, Mika possibly a third. Which is 60% of the quota, but then you're trying to replace 4 major contributors with 3 spots. Not too bad, but as you say the ooc list is deeply uninspiring.
Dobson being our goal kicker and captain means a couple more things to consider.
A pretty major reconfiguration is in the pipeline and it is going to be a challenge.
I think we're okay for outside backs, but 1 (ideally 2) pivots and a small handful of forwards will be a must.

Considering how rubbish most of the SL OOC players are, it can't be hard to find overseas players who are better, even reserve graders from the NRL will likely be better. Unless there is another player who has ruined his career in Oz, it's unlikely you'll get another player of the quality of burns to replace dobson

| We'll only have Burns, Tui & possibly Mika left as overseas players, so at least 2 places free. Lovegrove doesn't count does he?
Not convinced by Carlile. Depends what's available but don't think he's been offered a deal yet? One of Withers' assets is he covers half-back, which a lot of modern day hookers do. A 7/9 utility would be ideal imo.
Paea, O'Hara & Paterson need straight replacements. Plus we're a player light in the back row this season (why we've taken Ferguson on loan & re-signed Netherton).
Outside backs just about ok but guess we'll release Latus & Heil & not sure what the plan is with Caro. We've had to take George on loan & Horne has spent too much of the season filling in at centre for me. Another body would be good.

| Imo we already have a replacement for Paterson and thats Lovegrove.
Performed excellently in the left 2nd row whilst Paterson was crocked and suspended.
Prop, half back and utility forward would be on my list assuming Carlile is offered a deal if not then a hooker also

| Rhys has been outstanding on the left but he's already part of an over stretched back row. Still need to replace Paterson & bring another in imo. Good shout for Captain though.
