| Day three of not smoking.
Better than day one.
I'm a creature of habit so I'd tend to have a fag at specific points during the day, as long as I can keep pushing through these and not buy any on the way home I think it'll go OK.
Could have got in a seriously bad mood for no reason last night. Idiot for ever starting up again.

I was always just a social smoker really, stopped almost 8 years ago. I lived in Spain at the time so quitting was really difficult, everyone smokes in Spain. Plus we lived an hour away fron Gib so fags were dead cheap, I'm sure I actually used that as reason for not quitting once.
Are you socialising this weekend? You might find that a bit tricky if it involves alcohol.
Anyway good luck Goose man.

| yes, but it's my sisters fortieth and my Mum thinks I gave up years ago and didn't really smoke anyway (I'm only thirty seven, ffs, and I'm still worried about getting a ticking off from my Mum!?!) so that'll make it easier. And it's a meal so unless I claim to have a UTI then I can't really keep nicking off.

| Managed to give up the cigarettes 17 years 6 months and 12 days ago ! Still have times when I really fancy a smoke but I focus in that horrible sick, faint feeling you get with the first few drags after not smoking for a while. But don't you just love beng able to 'tut' and glare at those poor addicted souls who you have to push through to get into a pub or shop? I have heard it said that after 12 years or so your lungs are back to a non-smokers state.
The £6+ for a packet of 20 is a deterrent as well.
I never dared tell my mother that I smoked, she only found out when some idiot bought me a fancy lighter as a Christmas present at a family gathering. I was 20 odd at the time I felt about 5 when she started on at me. Mind you if I had had any backbone I would have pointed out that she and Dad had smoked for as long as I could remember. One scary lady!
Anyway keep up the good work. x

I'm very fond of Grafton Street, I was born and bred on Newland Avenue and my friend lived in what was the old farmhouse about 2/3 of the way down Grafton Street.
We used to say it was the street that had everything. An egg factory, a Kingdom Hall, a real live pop group, a decent pub, a secret Militant meeting place, Pauline Gift's (Roland's mum's) tat shop (a wonderful treasure trove) and a FABULOUS beer-off with pumps and barrels in the cellar where you could take your own jugs for filling up. Quite wonderful.
And then the students over ran and ran the street down and the traditional families moved out, like the rest of Newie Ave. Tragic. We are left with the sad shadow we see today. I don't often visit the Grafton, now, but we do occasionally go, for old times sake.
We used to go in both rooms, the front one (is that the bin?) for the darts, and the back one for the quizzes and the pool. Good times.

Not my side of town, my Mum's side, and so I used to go occasionally as a kid, when they could drag me kicking and screaming from the countryside. Really interesting to see the other side of what is apparently (to me as an outsider) a panacea for those areas, caused by the universities.
Your version sounds better.
I do remember "Pauline's Gift's", there's a part of me that was hoping it was still going and would go on forever.
Did anyone watch "The Hairy Bikers" last night? (I only watched a bit of it because it got a bit annoying) That's where I live. Polly, who won the cake contest, lives across the road from me (other people told me this prior, I'd stopped watching by now) Polly is great, but very stern. Fabulous baker though. I have a signed copy (she was very embarrassed, she's not actually famous, but she's a treasure to me) of her pudding book.

| Only watched a few minutes of the Hairy Bikers, I think the one with the glasses is rather creepy, mainly to see how they got on with the pronunciation.
I used to live/work on a farm over at Upper Denby. Supplied a lot of places round there with dairy stuff. Often went horse riding over your way. Great place to live. Still get nostalgic for the countryside and open spaces and hills. Hull does not compare well with the West Riding.

It's a Chris Moyles Show favourite, on at 9:50AM, Monday-Thursday.
Chris has loads of clips that Roy has generously recorded which he geniously talks to making it seem that Roy is actually there.
Two contestants, both in a car, in a carpark. Chris begins to give clues to a well known catchphrase and the first to beep their horn and say the correct catchphrase gets a point, best out of 3 winner stays on.
"join us, same time, next time - when we'll be playing another game of carpark catchphrase".

Like milk? To Longley Farm and the like? If it was, I wonder if you know the Ratcliffe's?
We're very lucky to live here, the view from our sitting room (still don't know if this is correct, Worm Woman will be along to correct no doubt) is spectacular.

Boo! Cheat.
I once made a quiche, can't remember what I put in it but it was going to be great.
Rolled my pastry a little too thinly and got a bit of a tear in it, thought I'd patched it up but when i poured the custard in it all leaked all over the work top and ran on the floor.

Went to asda and bought some pastry let defrost and whacked in the filling (Chicken, Mushrooms, Onions and Chicken gravy) unfortunatly I was short of filling so it has ended up being a recessed pie but a pie none the less.

| I know this is a rugby free thread, but attention really needs to be given to R.B.A.'s quiet insurrection over on The Wrong Side Of The Chocolate River's Tributary.
After last weeks Briscoe comments, we have this beauty this week on their youth development type person leaving who used to work with Sirius Academy.
Quote ="R.B.A"I hope Hull make a good appointment to replace Davey. There are 10 Rovers scholarship players in that all-conquering Sirius team and they are at an age that requires strong guidance. Don't let us down.'"

Ahh I see.
I'm more of a Viking girl myself, ( & I don't mean I wear a horned hat or platt my ginger tash.) I usually listen to Paul Foster on the way to work in a morning.
Mr Baldhead listens to Chris Moyles but thats because he's usually up at daft o'clock in the morning.
Does Terry Wogan still do radio? Now there's a man who deserves a slap in the face with a wet fish, can't stand him.
