I rate Dobson as a good young SH, mainly from his time at Wigan, Les Catalans and a couple of games while at Rovers.

I would have him in my side at Hull next year.

I also thought he was one of your best players at the KC derby, never stopped trying, but was let down by others.

Be intresting to see how he progresses.

Dobson is a "good" SH, and one of the very best in broken play, but overall - average....

How many forwards did Saints have out at the start of the season?

Most of them, which is why the lost 5 times in the opening rounds. When the forwards started to return they started winning again. Even players as good as Long & Pryce can't do much behind a struggling pack.

Long still helped Saints win games with a beaten and depleted pack, something which Dobson failed to do.

Not many. When Saints forwards were dropping like flies they scraped late home wins at home to Wakey & Hull, then lost 4 of the next 5. Compare that form with the 20 odd wins on the bounce that followed.

Can you honestly say that you think dobson will be better than long, burrow, deacon, monaghan, leuluia? i have seen nothing in his 2 or 3 good games to see this. And if were going on just potential then myler will be better than all of them!!

I think Dobson was much better than he was given credit for west of the river ( where he was obviously slated for the way he ended up in East Hull). However, he is nowhere near the top of the pile in SL. He wil be lucky to be considered top 6 next season, however he does have time on his side.

With good coaching and the right attitude, he could be termed as great within 5 years.

If Hull had managed to sign him he would have a 400 page thread by now stating he was the best scrum half in the universe

which "2 or 3 good games" do you mean? 12 tries,19 goals,2 drop goals in 13 apperances (for a new team) says he`s not bad.

im hoping for big things from Dobson next season, with a good pre season lets hope he can lead us on to bigger and better things,

Burrows is quick and tricky, but hes no passer and not the best kickereither IMO
Long a bit passed it now,
Deacon, great passing and kicking, but no pace
Monaghan drifts in and out far to much

Danny Brough, maybe at a top side could be the best in the S/L

Think Burrows has a very good in all departments, even in defence.

Long is certainly not passed it, still one of best about.

I would also Deacon reads the game very well.

I dont think much of Brough at all, very good kicking game though.

Sherwin gets crimanally over looked when discussing scrum halfs in SL even though he is 1 of the best IMO.

Brough and dobson are very similar in that they have a kicking game and not much else. If brough was playing for rovers this would be the "Brough is the best in superleague thread" and to be honest he has proved himself in super league more than dobson has.

considering we don't have one yes I agree Dobson and Brough are better than nothing.

The vast majority of us did, this said I would not want him back as I would like to see hull sign a quality scrum half.

I also think you miss understood me I didn't say brough was good, in fact I said he had a good kicking game and nothing else.
