Liam hasn't been seen at MS3CP since last Thursday according to Bonesy.

There are a number of stories circulating about Liam but the one about his antics at Knights training was the one that prompted him to ask to be released. Apparently CS was fuming over it.

I guess not according to my source's account of things. Anyway, its all history now. Liam has gone and for me it isn't good riddance, its more of a shame the way things have panned out. I wish him all the best at FC.

The reason Watts is leaving is due to gambling issues.

A poker night was held by Stanley Gene. Watts, Sandercock, Aizue, Chester, Murrell and Latus were all present. Sandercock was the favourite, the 'Le Chiffre' of the table, ruthless & winning big. Along cames Watts (Bond), who after an initial bad start and an attempted poisoning, fought back to clean up and take home all the winnings.

Sandercock didn't like this one bit and subsequently dropped Watts, and forced him to move to Hull FC to act as a double agent.

His off field behaviour seems to have ruined him. Apparently Saints were unsure of wether to enter the race for him because of how he is.

Mixed feelings about this. On one hand he's a good young English forward who can, ( in theory) only get better. On the other, he's apparently out of favor with CS for one reason or another so he's never going to reach his full potential with us.

What I don't get about the Watts affair is why the hell is he being released without compensation?? Things can't be that bad at Craven park! And if he is going to the Dullers, how have they accomodated him in their cap? The last I heard was that the signing of Pitts and the regestration of Radford left them with pennies left to spend!

How do we know that there is no compensation?

Who says they haven't paid a fee or offered compensation. The press release previously from Rovers only stated that they had agreed to let him talk to clubs. They didn't mention under what terms though.

And we all know this for sure do we?? The way it reads in every tabloid is that he has been released from his contract. Nothing about compensation.

Key word I think is "Discussions" Watts has over a year on his deal and is an England knights player. To leave on a free would be pretty bad form from Rovers.

Not being funny. But what they release is hardly nowt to go by. They tell you the bare minimum most of the time. The way I see it, is that I'd like to see clarity on this move. And how the hell have Fc fudged his wages onto the salery cap??

Erm they have probably saved a wedge on Mckinnon going home for a starters.

They were up to the cap before he left. Radford and Pitts plugged the gap he left. So where is the extra cap coming from?

No we weren't, Pitts signed at the end of March McKinnon left start of May.

If HKR don't want Watts at the club whats the point of having sat on his collecting a wage?

The last page or so of this thread has been a joy to read, Made me feel like a school teacher marking 5yr old's English homework.

The point is that Rovers invested alot of time, money, energy and kid gloves on this guy. Money they'll never get back, and the thought that Fc get him for free just rankles with me. Bad business sence by rovers if this is true. Mayby Mike Smith was in charge of it all, then that kinda figures!

Hkr are probably thinking its good business to get him away from the club without having to pay him.

Can't see it. It's bad business in my eyes. After all the guy has potential. Wether he's a trouble causer or not. I can understand that him leaving is part of a bigger picture in Rovers recruitment. But to hand him on a plate to our neighbours for nothing is just stupid!!

Look what happened with us and Carvell, sure we made 50k out of it but we lost out on a quality replacement.

Could be. There's nothing Rovers can do about what's been spent on Watts development thus far but there is something they can do about what they spend on him in the future.
