Not when you was on one of the four ships that had the towed-array. For 3 months of the year we where duty taps (Towed array patrol ship.) Wasn't fun when we where called back to Portsmouth on boxing day one year as a Russian sub had set off a sonar bouy leaving harbour. Glad to get on the Kent as even though it had the space for the towed array in it's place was probably the best gym in the whole of the royal naval fleet

Yes it is a phone but unfortunatly it is filthy but ruined by a 1 and a 2 year old.
Plus the Iphone camera isnt the best.

The iPhone camera is actually very good, now.

This in on the 3GS and it was never the best TBH.

I always found my images to be better than my friends with differing handsets, particularly Blackberry's.

It's getting on a little bit now so your quality was never going to be as good as what else is out there but they're still enough to capture what you see and give a good representation.

I think some of it due the fact that it is a distance shot as up close it is fine TBH, I can still take decent picures of my kids and so forth but as you can see it doesn't like distance.

They have an autofocus built in, for instance if you aim your camera at a sheet of text it will take a couple of seconds and will self-focus onto the text until it's sharp and clear, with landscape shots the phone is not that clever. You can tap on your screen whilst aiming to set a point of focus and give the camera a better chance of giving you the image you want.

You've done well though, I fix alot of iPhone's, particularly 3GS's and more commonly, the camera. Is it that the lens is a bit scratched? Not really alot you can do about that other than to replace it, the parts are only a few quid and the right seller even includes the tools. The Camera is one of the last things out though when dismantling and for a working camera it's as bit silly to risk damaging everything else to 'fix' it.

Well my wifi is screwed on it as well TBH but 'no job'=make do and mend so.

But yeah scratched lens is where I am at.

with regard the wifi I read thatb when they were first released the wifi was only ste tto run at 50% due to heat issues.
in one of the newer updates they were set at 100% and plenty burnt themselves out.
My wifi is totally 'out' as it never detects any wifi even when I know damn well there is a strongs wifi signal.
I have alos done the trick of going back to factory setting with no diffrence.

The connection for the WIFI antenna inside the 3GS is like a popper-button on the end of a ribbon, they can become 'unpopped' if the phone has been used as an hammer by a child.

If this is what's happened, it's an easy fix as this is just behind the screen and all you would need is a tiny phillips and a sucker pad for pulling the screen up.

There's a fair few videos available for safely removing screens.

EDIT- I never got chance as it has seemed to have died althogether it is doing nothing with no sign of life even if I plug it into the charger.
