A couple of reasons really, his contract was a reported $400k, the contract he got off scr was reportedly the same and he didn't want to give up rep footy.

If so The Daily Star were wrong about him only being interested in Wigan, Warrington, St Helens & Leeds. So good chance they were wrong about the £180k.

Although to be fair it only said Mason was 'looking' for £180k a year. Looking for and getting are 2 very different things.

if he comes he comes and if he doesnt he doesnt, dont fret over it. as said above he could be a super star, or he could be a disruption, lets see if and when we sign him.
