I have to admit it did make me smile when I saw this news. Even more so that when some fans (and a few of them are on this thread) went from BG the KR Ledgend who had another year in him, to past it turncoat!

And not one of you really has a clue exactly the salary that has been agreed. The fact is he wanted to stay and you couldnt meet his expectations financially and so parted company.

He will be a very useful addition to an already very good second row at FC and Im sure PG will use him accordingley, If hes injured a lot then thats a risk you take, it could happen to any player.

As most of you have rightly said BG is a model pro and knows how to look after his body, with the right guidance he CAN have another good year.

For me, the main difference is at KR, Benny was integral, first name on the sheet, at FC he will be part of squad and uses accordingley, giving him time to recover from game to game.

He will be a great mentor and leader to the young players and all teams need a blend of youth and experience, that is exactly what PG is doing.

At the end of the day if he had signed another year at KR, even at the imaginary £100K per year figure that is being banded about, you would all be singing from the rooftops.

Get over it.

We've been, if not burned, then singed at least, a couple of times by 'one last year' so I would have been pleased but wary.

If hudgell offered 85k and it was rejected, then that was back in early July. Galea may well be in a position of having to take what he can at this late stage of the season for finding a new club. Factor in he will will not be top boy, like is at rovers, then it would be unusual to offer a new player a massive deal as it was disrupt the dynamics of the existing squad.

Galea has signed for FC was offered a deal a month ago and turned it down FC gone back with an improved offer but its no where near 100k but not penuts either, he is a gamble at his age but a player Gentle admires and wants his input into the camp if we dont flog him and treat him like wire treat briers and morley he should do well for us for a year, somtimes the players you really want just are not available stright away it takes time to build a team, i think where taking a big shot on him tbh but his exsperience knowlage and leadership could have a big influence on younger players
