That's been my stance all along on this, every player has a value and it has to be taken in context of the whole squad in a salary capped sport. In the modern game 1,6,7 & 9 are your most important players and it stands to reason you should have to pay more for these roles to be covered. I think we would be best served grooming Salter & Heil for right centre and spend the cap money elsewhere - full back perhaps?

I think it's a great thing that we arnt chucking money at players like we have in the past, think we've learnt our lessons it hasn't really got us anywhere as it splashing the cash, like a few on here wud rather give the local lads more and build up squad that way.
