| Quote ="nick hkr"On this basis I feel the RFL need to tighten up on the ticket pricing throughout the league. If a club can alter its prices of entry each week then its open to exploitation.
Anyone can at the moment charge £30 entry everytime they expect a large crowd to visit (e.g. the derby games), yet to increase away support from the less well supported teams like say Quins, Celtic, Catalans...etc you reduce it to £5 entry per person and £2 per child.
In my opinion it should be set at the beginning of the year and sent to the RFL, then if you wish to do any promotions it must be cleared with the RFL who will monitor if you are trying to exploit any particular club.
I dont begrudge my money going to Children in Need, I cant say there are many charities I would begrudge a £ of my money going to but the way in which Hull FC have put it upon us I feel isn't right. Think it was last year there was a bucket collection at the KC and I dug deep and must have put about £3 in loose change in there, I'd have done the same this year but if there is a bucket collection now, I'm not going to bother because I've already donated.'"
Did say this, if a bucket collection were done, more than the £15000 would probably been raised. Its only be done in this way to highlight FC. IE THE BOARD.

| Quote ="bob bob bobin robin"The point is FC have said from the start that the extra £1 is going to charity. If you don't WANT to pay it then don't.
Lets be realistic for a change on this board. It's £21 to sit in a covered stadium with first class facilities (albeit a football stadium!!). It's also £20 to sit in an uncovered temporary 'golf' stand which leaves a lot to be desired. AND in this case, that extra £1 actually goes to charity and not the club.
Sorry, but anyone who complains is just a bit sad and/or stupid IMO.'"
Not quite sure about the football ground bit but the rest is absolutely spot on.
1)Its for charity.
2)Its reasonably priced to come to our place anyway.
3)Its one pound.
4)If you dont like it,spit your dummy out and dont bother coming !

| I think people have a valid point here. Donations to charity by supporters should be at their own discretion. I'm willing to bet that most people who attend the match will have already donated to Children in Need. It's very easy to say "If you don't like it don't come", but there's a principle involved.
If the club wants to make a genuine donation to Children in Need and insist on raising ticket prices a fairer way to do it would be for them to match the donation paid by the fans out of their own profits.

Quite. Exactly what Hudgell does when he charges £7 more for the derby than any other game. He pockets the £7 though, so it is a bit different.

1) Indeed it is, and as most of us have said we don't have a problem with where the money is going.
2)You think it's reasonable to charge £24 for a concession ticket for the West Upper?
3)Well that depends how many tickets you're buying doesn't it really. If a family had come to the game, mum and dad would have put a couple of quid in the bucket, but I wouldn't expect the kids to do so too.
4)We don't work like that, you see we DO support our team in 'any kind of weather' unlike our neighbours who complain because they don't get a discount to come into our ground.
The attendance from Rovers for the Horne testimonial game will be interesting to see, sadly he may be the one to pay for your clubs treatment of Rovers fans here, especially the way the tickets have been handled.

Trace, you're probably the best poster on here but you're way off the mark claiming Rovers have been mistreated. Face it, Hudgell started this by charging a different price for the derbies only. He pocketed the difference. That's fair enough and the result of supply and demand. It's frankly outrageous for Rovers to try and take any sort of moral highground on this one when FC are similarly charging a one-off different price and donating the difference to charity. Let's see whether Hudgell will be magnanimous enough to make a similar donation from the FC game where the prices differ from what everyone else is charged by £7. Dressing up a £7 difference ad a "discount" that appliesfor for 12 out of 13 games is just silly.
The point about boycotting the Horne testimonial, when the kid's been through a career threatening injury and a diagnosis of diabetes and supported Rovers as a child because of a £1 donation to Children in Need is staggering.

2) its all about "maximising profit and good business sense" (c) numerous rovers fans. (Its also a lot better value then the south stand at craven park on account of you can actually see the pitch).
3) agree it probably should have been a bucket collection, would have saved a lot of bother and quite possibly made more money.
4) I believe south stand at craven park was sold out, which somewhat sinks this point.

£24 for a ticket to sit in comfort with a second to none view of a sell out sporting event, Erm yes extremely reasonable !
As for Richard Horne's testimonial it will be a sell out, dont worry about that !!!

| I honestly cannot see where the Rovers fans are coming from on this one. Even some of the more sensible posters have completely missed the point and as for boycotting the Richard Horne testimonial, i find that sort of threat totally out of order.

If you read my post again you'll see I put 'sadly' it might affect Horne's testimonial game. I've been supportive of the lad, he's come through a lot, but if Rovers fans don't come to this game it will be down to your own club.

| at the end of the day i could'nt give a tos$ if im sat at the kfc or on the terraces of cas, wakie or bradford, i go to watch what is on the field! the ticket pricing is getting stupid, you can watch premier league football for the same price as what it has cost me to get in the west upper (not that i would want to). i think £20 should be the top end of the spectrum.
