Pretty much went downhill from the moment Latus never got the ball away to Webster. Some proper shonky bits from us tonight. The try from Pelissier(?) was laughable in as much it was that bad. Pretty much summed up the night and certainly the bad parts of the season. Catalans were excellent tho, their power, pace and flair are breathtaking at times and they're a match for a lot of teams in that form. However, it is hard not to overlook that they weren't up against much.

I agree that next year could very much well be the same story as this year for you all, as you say not enough of the average players moved on and more worryingly most of your main strike players are leaving and are being replaced with players that are not at the same level barring Hodgson who is probably on a par with Fox.

Your probably going to make 2-3 more signings, these signings have to be top level players otherwise the top 8 will be very difficult next year for your new coach.

How? Rovers won the equivalent fixture just 2 weeks ago, and on Friday night we had an even more one-sided game between 1st and 4th. I really don't think you can read anything into it - we've had a fair number of blow-out scores all season.

The top 8 system rewards mediocrity. Aside from the possibility (albeit slim) of a team from the bottom half of the table winning the competition there is no real advantage in finishing 1st rather than 2nd. You could also argue that there is a benefit in finishing 5th over 4th.
