not surprising really as his preferred position is full back he was behind aussie test player kurt gidley in the pecking order, doesn't make him a bad player just as dobson was only a reserve at canberra behind campese and carney or blake green behind ben roberts and brett kimmorley at the bulldogs.

Very good support player and gap runner from fullback. Scores his fair share of tries, and his cover defence is very good, just doesn't look good when the big guys run straight at him.

To be fair, with the size and speed of forwards in the modern game there's not many fullbacks that don't get trampled. from ten metres out, the majority of forwards will score.

In fact (stands back and waits to be corrected!) the only hard hitting smaller player in the tackle that I can think of in the league is Tommy Leuluai.

There are a few little 'uns who can tackle, Burrows is not afraid to go in at anyone and our own (as was) Fish has a good record (wasn't he SL top tackler a few season ago).

As the saying goes, a good big one will always beat a good little one.

First season iirc, didn't help that we had to defend for sixty minutes of every game. He is/was a good tackler in the classical sense of taking the legs, I always felt we were much tighter in defence around the ruck when he was on the park. Morgan wasn't apparently a fan though and wanted him to be a more up top first man in prevent the off load type of tackler.



Indeed. Burrow is OK one on one, but there's a whole world of difference in managing to get along side a forward whose looking to break the line and off load and hang around their waist to one who [ihas[/i broken the line and is looking to go right through you. It's very, very difficult to bring down a powerful forward front on.
