I didnt put a time limit on him, fantastic prospect for future IMO

He's played 41 consecutive games for Rovers (if that's not the exact figure, it's something like that). Before that, he wasn't a Super League player. The progress he has made in those games been excellent and he has the potential to get better.
Kris is a good player at the minute. There are areas of his game that can improve but he's still young and relatively inexperienced. I can't think of any young centres that make Kris look "average at best", though.

Basing my opinion on some posts on this board, I'd say the opposite is the case - that he doesn't get the credit he deserves compared to some of the more established or high profile players.
Compared to other youngish centres, playing in SL he's not Michael Shenton, fair enough. He's not as spectacular as Hall, but is more consistent. Is Clubb a similar age? - he's good but a very different type of player. So among good young centres he's possibly average - but they are a rare and valuable breed.

I do think he is a good player, with the potential of being a great player. This is his first full season in SL & has been our first choice centre all season. As I said earlier he does make a few errors but given time Im sure these errors will be less & less.
Plus he's a fellow ginger, so he gets my vote every time

| Kris is a good kid and a 100% trier and team player and is very useful with regards the home grown quota .
But if you are brutally honest, he is not the sort if player who is going end his career with a stack of medals, and definitely not anywhere near international standard. His limitations have been exposed in a few of the big games. Greg Inglis would think all his christmases had come at once. To be frank, he would not get into Hulls team, a team who finished 12th.
If Justin is serious about his ambitions to win things extra quality is required. I would imagine that Ratu may well prove to be the better player, and, unless Webster does depart, dont think Kris will have another 100% appearance season next year.

In fairness he is a decent player, and when I say young centres I obviously don't mean all of them, I mean the likes of the ones you mention.
I could name at least 5 or 6 centres of similar age in Superleague that I would have ahead of him, so on that basis speaking of him as an England cantidate is very premature.

probably the only thing holding the kid back is serious pace. he can add muscle and power over time. he has a knack of been in the right place at the right time ( that is a rare skill that no other young centre i have seen in the league has), and he reads the game well most of the time.

So which one out of Yeaman, Hall and Briscoe would you put him ahead of??
Two of who are younger.
Sometimes pays to be realistic.

| Atkins, Shenton, Clubb - fair enough.
Tyrer?!!! FFS Hutchie.
Gibson is harsh too. Watkins and Tom Briscoe likely will be if they are able to fulfil their potential. Sean Gleeson, Hall and Cudjoe I'd put on a similar level to Welham.

Says the man who thinks Justin Morgan is a 'petulant child', Kris Welham is the worst young centre in SL and expects both Briscoe and Fox to miss out on International selection.

Massive talent by all accounts. But of the 25 SL games he's played so far, a good few have been on the wing. Tyrer was the next big thing at one point.
