| Folk on here need to get a grip. We’ve walked this league. Tactically managed today’s result to put us in the box seat for promotion. And the form of Leigh and Widnes puts us favourites for the automatic third place after Warrington and Les Cats. AND I suspect this is all irrelevant. I heard today that the Rovers hierarchy have already had some (off record) assurances for next year and Super League with the increase in numbers to 13. This makes sense with us able to secure Carney, McGuire, Masoe and I heard today young Jack Walker from Leeds linking up with JP. The crying over a couple of games not exerting ourselves is shortsighted and total failure to see the big picture.

In your opinion.
And you're entitled to it.
Call me daft, but I expect when I put aside other things and shell out my hard earned that the team actually give a shizzle.
I have however developed a new theory, which if we have signed Jack Walker works.
I think Sheens is working towards a Total Rugby team, in the mold of Rinus Michael's 1970's Ajax team. We'll play with four props, who all have a kicking game, six half backs and three full backs. Everyone rotates depending on the attacking play that's called by one of the six half back's or defends, depending on the call of one of the three full backs.
Genius.

| Actually, I disagree. You do have a chance. Regardless of the last two results, you have the best Championship squad. Make the MPG, and it's a one-off game.
As for the previous post around "tactically managed today's result" you clearly weren't at the game. Effort in spades from HKR, but on the day not good enough. Fax played virtually at 100% today. We can't do that through the 8's, but we're really happy to be in there having a go.
Lastly, spouting "off record" assurances for next year should be regarded as trolling. Especially for someone with 37 posts to their name. The RFL aren't renowned for getting things right, but (imo) even they wouldn't move the posts so radically for just the next season.
Best of luck in the 8's.

No it's you that needs to get a grip, matey.
As I recall you were dancing around again with your Harry Potter wand and fairy dust canisters at the same stage last season saying we were far too good to get relegated and continued this misguided optimism on through the 8s and the rest is history. You lost credibility then, you're shot to bits now imo.
You can't plan anything on off record hearsay from SL clubs voting in August on SL reorganisation and you are wrong to infer that it's a given at this point in time.
I also understand the fullback to be Will Dagger from Warrington, so there's a chance you've got that wrong too.
We're not in good form heading into these important 7 games and it's not something you can turn on just like that.

You thought there was effort in that performance from rovers lol, and yes I was there. If booting the ball in to touch every time we were near the fax line chasing the game is classed as effort, then yea, there was plenty.

| The reality is that the team today and daft tactics were miles away from the one that will take the field in the 8's. Sheens has been planning meticulously for almost a year and we have pulled off some top signings IF we even need them with other SL clubs keen for us to return. We are in a great position with a far stronger team than last year. Time for positivity methinks.

To me, bending down with your hands on your knees mean that you're pretty tired. Fax players a plenty today doing that, but a fair few HKR players as well. By effort, I mean walking off the pitch having given your all. I did think that neither team had left anything in the tank today?

Best team by far today Chief.
We put in a weird performance and the return fixture will be interesting.
Rover's have potentially shot ourselves in the foot today, realistically, we have the better team, we've spent more money on players, we have better facilities, we have many more back staff.
But we lost.
Fax will think that they've got our number.
Pretty much all of our performances this season have smacked of arrogance and some sort of divine right to be promoted.
You get feck all in this life if you don't work and Rovers don't yet understand that.

| TBH you will get promoted by right. Cats at your place are there for the taking. Clearly your recent results are pretty poor but you have beaten Leigh away already with a worse team. Possibly the players or coaches attitude needs to be questioned recently, but you should have enough, I hope I am wrong mind,

I suppose we'll have to console ourselves by looking forward to a semi-final, 7 SL S8 games, likely SL playoffs, potentially a final, and a trip to Sydney in the new year.
Also, how much £ qualifies as a bumper pay day?

| You remind me of that Harry Enfield character. "I have considerably more money than yoau" Fwiw I reckon the winner on Saturday will win final also but from my view I'm not thinking of fc until hopefully next season when the derby may be back.

Just being honest. We have a lot to look forward to at the moment and mourning the los of the derby is pretty low in our thoughts. Personally I think we'll lose on Saturday in a tight game, I was pretty confident last year v Wigan, but Leeds seem to have our cards marked.
I'd welcome the derby back (providing it doesn't get diluted by playing 4/5times a year), and I'd welcome you replacing either Widnes or Leigh in SL as they are two crap clubs that bring nothing to the comp.

I would guess looking at the fixture against Leigh (who replaced us) with 11000 in attendance rather than Hull KR with 21000 in attendance, 10000 tickets at an average of say £20 that's £200,000 plus the lost revenue in hospitality (which is always sold out) plus money behind the bars.
I would say that Hull FC have lost about £250,000 this season. Don't know about you but I would say that is "bumper" money, wouldn't you?

Eyup Ronnie, nice to see you. These sums were done last year.
So Leigh attracted 11k, last year v Rovers there was 17.5k in attendance. We can go somewhere in the middle and call it an 8.5k difference. £20 per ticket seems high, taking into account the price of juniors & concessions, and junior pass holders have free away game entry. Say £18pp. We make nothing from the bars. Hospitality neither of us know.
£18 x 8500 = 153,000
We also have to knock off a chunk for the Rovers fans that would've bought straight from the club, I believe each club keep 25% of away tickets sold. Assume 4,000 Rovers fans at £18 * 25% = 18k (135k)
Our "deal" at the KCOM I believe means that we only keep 50% of ticket revenue (over a certain threshold, which this is), so the £135k becomes about £68k.

They're just assumptions, that's all we can go on. But yeh, terrible "deal" in retrospect, based on our pre KC attendances.

| If Kr had been good enough, you wouldn't be having this money conversation. If Kr don't get promoted, that's nobody else's fault. All this Leigh & Widnes are crap, is daft talk. Believe me, Leigh and Widnes will be ready for the M8s, just like Wire & Cats will be. If you don't beat Fax in your first game, You will be in the brown stuff.
