I haven't seen the game but my guess and it is just my opinion, is that this sort of result comes from playing players not 100% fit and also players that know they wont be here next year. Its hard to get the balance right but mind games don't wash with me.
We were NEVER going to do much in the play offs with game intensity raised, as teams do, we collapse.
Glad to a certain degree that the game reflected our season, inconsistent !!!

True, but actually there's been a Big 4 throughout the SL (it's composition has changed slightly now, but the original 4 are the only ones to win the big vase), and you could say the same of 8 or 10 teams through most of that time. Or drop a couple of the very worst and most poorly supported out of 'capable of causing a surprise' group.

Started well, scored off pretty much Saints' only first half mistake than didn't touch the ball again for fifteen minutes.

Brown had us worked out and exploited our right edge defence weakness, playing Horne from the start was a huge error by Sandercock, compounded by the recent form of Cox.

Saints were by far the better side, Roby murdered us through the middle and then the left edge defence went to cack to even up the score with the right.

Played with a bit of pride in the second half, but all Saints needed to do was continually make us bring the ball out of our twenty and wait for the inevitable error to break away and score.

Turner had about the best game I've seen him play. Brown came up with a great game plan of refusing to take us on up the middle early doors and look to exploit our poor edge defence by pushing it wide early in the tackle count. We were too thick to see this and failed to adapt and kept the middle tight which extrapolated that tactic.

Yes, they did, Frankie. We were dire and deserving of the boos and criticism. Not one single FC fan will say otherwise.

Injuries were not to blame because the injured players didn't drop the ball, kick poorly or pass to the linesman.

I don't think we will, we have no pressure for this game, Huddersfield do, and they couldn't cope with it last thursday.

No excuses from me - not good enough in the end. Poor defensive reading on the edges has resulted in many short spells of 5/10mins were we concede multiple tries and that's what happened tonight.

I predicted an 8th place finish prior to the season starting and I was spot on and I've posted pretty consistently throughout the season but sometimes I can't be bothered but FC fans never point this out when we're winning.
