Even with our thinner squad and more modest aspirations for this season, if we were at home and had had an extra day's recovery, I'd like to think we could compete, if perhaps not expect to win.
Hodgson, Brown, Salter, Gleeson, Caro, Hall, Withers, ET, Hodgson, O'Hara, Mika, Lovegrove, Griffin.
Paea, Cox, Horne, Carlile.
Not frightening perhaps, but not hopeless either.
It is about who plays more than who doesn't. The team you seem likely to put out today wouldn't get you to Old Trafford, but it is capable of beating an erratic opponent who are aiming for mid-table, over 80 minutes. Narrow favourites to do so, last time I checked.

Said on the FC board think you guys will win by a small margin. Can't see FC having the strike players to break the line too often. You would have to throw in a Salford style performance to lose this one.
That is unless you do the ultimate Dobson match day story. Announce he is injured and then don't play him. (Please?)

Im exactly the same. Last year we couldnt compete at all and they had a long list of players out

Although the old idea of the bookies rarely being wrong springs to mind, the VALUE therefore lies in a Rovers win as many people see the game as a 50/50, or at least "God knows which team will turn up" from either side.

Looking at who played though, and apart from at prop it was pretty much full strength for Hull. It was still poor to lose that heavily, mind you.

I thought we'd win at the end of 2008, at home and they'd be drained after the cc final. Apart from that it is always hope rather than expectation.

Injury situation was different last year though. We were lacking frowards, not our halves, which you can cope with. Honestly, if you do lose today then sandy deserves sacking on the spot

Hull spent 15 minutes on our line at the end of the 1st half and couldn't score, that shows we can defend, we need to show that same resolve every week now.

I thought we played well - not the most polished, but good enthusiasm and determination. Hall was a very worthy mom. Much as R.Horne was one of their best from fb, surely him partnering either whiting or Westerman would have been a more natural pairing?
Anyway, good result without Dobson - hopefully he won't be out too long and Burns isn't too bad.
