Quins won the forward battle, had a better kicking game, outsmarted you in the half-backs and had a much better back line than you because of injuries/call-ups etc. They are a good side. We should know, we have a diabolical record against them.

Briscoe and Fox missed hugely last night for me……… whether we’d have taken the two points or not is questionable but it would without a doubt been a closer game.

I think we look tired at the minute, I’m hoping we can pull out of the now obvious slump next week at Celtic, Scott Murrell and Ben Galea look completely different players to 6 weeks ago!

I think there is a fair chance three of their tries might have been stopped had Briscoe been playing, the first when NO-ONE was in the right position and the two breakaways at the end, we rarely get those against us when he is around.

It doesn't help when he flits from 2nd row to loose to stand off. Keep it simple, Briscoe out then bring Haynes in at full back, Fox out bring in a winger from the reserves. We have three years of franchise to develop the young lads and its doing no good to bring in players out of position and end up with defeats, we may as well cop the defeats and do something useful like give the youngsters game time.

I think the idea of starting Haynes on the wing instead of full-back was to keep him out of the firing line cos if he had had a bad game it could have knocked back his progression big time.

Having said that, there's always a chance he could have played full-back and had a cracking game.

I've said on another thread if brisc plays wing he looks clueless so by not exposing haynes at full back we could have exposed him more out of position. He looked great running onto a high ball / grubber just out of position in defence as were most of our players tonight. Wonder if man united would play Rooney in defence.

I think we saw tonight just what Briscoe brings to the team because of his absence.
As well as his great defence, superb postional play etc etc he is also the one who organises the defensive line.
The Quins 1st try would not have been scored IMO because he would have read the kick and Fitz doesnt have that ability.

Thought their problem was far greater than missing him. The rovers pack didnt get on top and it all went wrong from there imo.

Too many soft un's in that team, the annual slide after a good start is looming.

You're not kidding. McCarthy-Scarsbrook must have made more metres than the rest of our props put together (though I thought wheeldon had a good game). We've lost the forward for the last 3 weeks running. We need Vella and Lovegrove back as it's clear we don't have the strength in depth.

Yeah I agree, was a very soft try to concede at the time (although it was well worked). Having said that, I dont think having Briscoe in the team last night would have made you won, far too many individual errors and Quins were just the better team.

i must say yes we missed brisco and fox colbon and so one but they broke the line down the middle where our regular players where we looked tired as a team and very weak quins played well and were always on there toes sidestepping we got beat simple as its not the end for us we will kick on. leeds lost a few on the bounce and no1 wrote them off we will just have to take it and get on with it no1 wanted us there anyways so we have to prove them wrong again i arnt worrying still a long way to go
