| After watching a decent half back playing today I bet he is regretting going to Aus to play. He is a second rate player who has played well in SL.
He failed last time he went back and will do so again.
A good left boot and thats it.

| Good with ball in hand but a really terrible defender and can kick goals. Occasionally prone to tantrums and tends to blame others around him.
That's how I see him. He's going to be a third reserve for a 12 month deal. I'd like to know the reasoning behind that.

What's that got to do with it? Dobson has seen a SOO Half today. He isn't a patch on him.

Its a good job the SOO selectors only watch him against second string teams. Was Phil Gould there today!!!

| Hasn't one of your forwards who's played state of origin been terrible all season it meens nothing really or you might have put up a better fight against Wigan with the worlds greatest scrum half and if he is that good what's he doing over here playing for you

Frankie, considering your home match with the Pies hardly went your way, its a bit rich to have a go at the Broncos. Yes, and before you say it we lost at Wembley.

I'll lay odds he is Briers' replacement.
He can't tackle but he can lead a team round a pitch magnificently. He won't trouble the National selectors though.

| Dobson is a Rugby League genius.
OK he can't defend and that is his NRL problem but nobody can put a player through a gap like him in Super League these past few years.
He leads a team around the field better than anyone he directs play he creates he pretty well dictates what everyone else is going to do.
It's been a privilege to watch this master craftsman at work.

| From an opposition POV, he's a thorn in the side and I'm glad to see him go.
I also thought that about Roger the Dodger, but he was twice the player Dobson is.
Just because I wear different colours, doesn't mean I don't give grudging admiration out every now and then.

You do realise that Dobson wasn't actually playing in that game don't you? Along with Paea, Paterson, Mika, Burns, Hodgsons x 2 etc.

Congratulations Pal. Your star scrum half just beat our under 19s. Where has he been for the rest of the games he's played in?
Bless you though. It can't be often that you can come and troll on other teams boards can it?

I could accept "under strength", even "missing players in key positions" - but to describe a team with Welham, Withers, Hall, Lovegrove, Netherton etc... as "Under 19's" is stretching it a little!

Wouldn't say he's a genuis because I don't consider him to have the natural flair of some players like say Chase, Paul Cooke etc., more a consummate professional who works hard at his game.
When he puts a player through a gap, it is more of a pre-meditated, pre-planned above organised before the respective play-the-ball - he's not the type of player to create something out of nothing like the "double pump" Paterson used for Welham's try at the derby on Good Friday.
Because a lot of tries come from pre-planned moves, I'd attribute more of our attacking ability to the coach rather than individual, off-the-cuff brilliance unless Eden or Hall are involved.
I love the Dobson and he's a Rovers legend but I would go so far as to say I've actually got bored of watching us play when he sees so much of the ball - every time we're in the opposition's 20 a prop drives to the sticks so Dobson can hit one of three edge players.
We've finished mid-table every year since the departure of Paul Cooke so I'm actually looking forward to Keeting's arrival next year because we're going to have to play slightly different because of Dobson's departure.

Thats kind of the way I'm thinking,we have become predictable, stop Dobson stop HKR and the moves are pretty predictable. So I'm looking forward to seeing a different HKR next year.
I'll no doubt eat my words and wish he was back by round 4.
None of this is to take anything away from MD, he's been a great servant and lifted us up a massively since he joined, just the move may be what both parties need.
