What if his 'funds' still haven't cleared? Do we tell him to cancel the transaction? I mean, as odd as the situation is, what if he genuinely has the money and it really is stuck in a transaction somewhere over the Atlantic whilst it's being processed by the banks security teams? There isn't really a way to know if he's real unless the money arrives, the banks can take weeks or even months to process funds of this magnitude, he can just keep alluding to this when quizzed.

Great news, as soon as the £15 million goes in our account, I intend to match it with £15 million of my own!

It only says deadline in the Daily Wail, the club statement says expected by January 31st.

He may or may not have the money but making statements implying that he is some kind of lying fruitcake will only leave some people looking rather silly should his claims turns out to be genuine, it might just be better to wait and see what the final outcome is before making judgemental comments.
With regards to his dress sense, he would'nt be the first millionaire eccentric type to dress in a way that at first sight would make you feel obliged in giving them your throw aways and slipping them a fiver.
MY own opinion is........i simply dont know what to believe at the moment despite what i've heard from people, including his friends who have played with him in the past and spoken with him recently, perhaps he has even hoodwinked them also, we will just have to wait and see i guess.

The dresses like a tramp thing doesn't matter, lots of multimillionaires look like they haven't got a pot to relieve themselves into.
It's the other bits and pieces that don't add up, If he's willing to effectively throw away £15m on a hobby it must mean he has at least £30m (more like £100m) in the bank, then the dad waiting an op still living in a council house really doesn't ring true.
If we are asking if he hasn't got the cash then why is he doing it, well some people just can't help themselves. Maybe he was bragging he had a load of cash, someone suggested he invest in HKR he said ok and it kind of snowballed. Hope I'm wrong but I don't get a warm feeling.

Whilst i hope it comes off for us... I have a nagging doubt(hopefully to be proved wrong), but as others say...what,where and why?

As has been proved in the last half dozen threads on this subject.... sensible goes out of the window... so can`t see this one being open too long..

My view is that I am stuck in the 'will believe it when see it when I see it on the Hull Kingston Rovers website' camp.
However we are talking about a huge amount of money and it is totally possible that assets have to be liquidated or that money that is tied up has to be freed up.
Not saying either case is true but I myself CANNOT (I have been wrong in the past) see HKR making a statement unless they have themselves at least seen that there is a possibility that the funds can be acquired.

As others have said, I just can't see the point, a rugby league club is basically a big money pit. If I'd toiled my way to being a multi millionaire one of the last things I'd do is invest it somewhere where a return is pretty much guaranteed not to happen whilst simultaneously probably attracting criticism from a load of moaning gits.

So what's he getting out of this? What can his motivation possibly be?

Old rumours about a south stand and a linked hotel could be a motive although that was linked to Siemans and the Green Port.

Seriously I have no idea, and none of us really do.

I live in hope though and at least the Board are handling it professionally.
