Yet they are willing to let him leave.

Leeds don't give long deals to the 30 + brigade and it's a good policy IMO.

If they are still playing well then they can have another year, and if that's not enough then they can decline elsewhere seems to be the thinking.

If we're at or near the salary cap then some of our big players are being overpaid anyway, so cheaper does not necessarily mean worse.

I'd offer him a 2 year deal, cant see anyone we could get of his quality of better out of Super League, although I suppose if we are losing McDonnell it allows us to sign someone from the NRL if they become available

Well obviously, the signing would only be subject to him passing some kind of medical to determine if, in fact, hes "finished" or not

hes finished if we could have signed him 3 years ago when he was world class then fair enough but not now
