| Just a quick one to see what you lot actually make of Jamie Peacock and his role at your club, i know he's ruffled a few feathers and lost you a lot of friends/wellwishers with his silly and ill thought out comments and possibly tarnished his reputation a bit by pulling on his boots again (surely you didnt need him that badly ?) but what are your opinions of him and do you think/hope he will stay on ?
Genuine question as most comments i've seen seem to have a lot of people losing respect for him and partly blaming him for your demise.

| Can they afford him? Does he add value above and beyond sheens? Has he offered anyone out on twitter since they were relegated on his watch?
He'll be fine though as he charges £1500 for a 2 hour "motivational" speech - or at least he does if you're an amatuer RL club. Talk about giving back to the game

We'll see in the next year or so what he's made of. Picked up a crock of a team so was on the back foot to start with. We'll never know if we had cash for loanees mud season but if we did then it was his fatal error not to use it.
Get the feeling everyone at the club was convinced that 'we'll be alright' until it was too late. Recruitment, lack of head coach and a lack of reaction killed us in the end.

| To keep Sheens (a recognised coach) we may have to make the role of Director of Football redundant anyway to keep costs down.

| If Peacock leave now of his own accord then it will be an unfortunate blight on his great career and he will be quizzed about it for years to come. I am sure that if he does go it be released as either by 'mutual consent' or 'cost saving'. Having said that, if he is the man on integrity he claims to be he will still be at the front rattling his sabre next season

You need sheens but I don't see what peacock brings to the party when sheens is in place.

He'll offer to take a pay cut if he stays surely? He can't expect to be paid the same in the championship as he was in SL

As a neutral I agree with this statement; however I disagree with the OP's view that JP has tarnished his reputation; other than some silly comments he has made recently, he has shown a large degree of inner strength, resilience and leadership by putting his boots on again in HKR's time of need. OK, it didn't work but that's not the point!

| I think the most obvious question is, would rovers had stayed up had Kelly been playing, whatever went on, do you think the absence of Albert Kelly contributed to rovers' relegation.
Whether he had a future beyond this year, do you think the club needed his presence?

I was asking that question about regretting it if we lost a few days ago.
As it happens, I don't think it makes a difference. We did enough to win it but threw it away. Kelly would also not have been match fit.
Regardless, coulda, woulda, shoulda, it's done now. We just need to hear what the plan is to get back to SL in as short a time as possible. If we don't start signing players in the next week or two, next season is already lost.

| There's a big similarity to brexit. We're leaving SL on the narrowest of margins like we're leaving the EU on the narrowest of margins.
In both we must make a success of the situation and move on.
In both we had idiots that used the outcome as an excuse for violence.
The big difference is that we need to get back into SL whereas we need to stay out of the EU.

| That he put his hand up to play is the measure of the man.
That he needed to is the measure of his plan. Whether he had much room for manoeuvre, I don't know, but his line was uncompromising - a characteristic better suited to a pack leader or captain than a DoR.
Fine margins between winning and losing, and determined/stubborn/obstinate.
If he can learn from it can be an asset, but whether a smaller organisation needs so many chiefs is debatable.

To extend the simile, will it be a hard or soft SLexit, gambling on getting back ASAP or making a success of life in in the second tier?
Running a full-time squad will be tough, without the Sky money, lower gates and less sponsorship.
Sheens is supposed to be coming no matter what, but then Cameron was going to stay on as PM and immediately do that article-whatever thing, so we could quickly have all the rules without the representation, or invoke Anglo-Juche.
Difficult choices.

Is the fact that he put his hand up to play more a reflection of his inability to have the skills to solve the problems KR had in a way more suited to his current role. He'd been successful on the pitch so thought he could play KR out of trouble rather than deal with the issues he helped create. Did the fact he did that smack of desperation to the others in the squad and put doubt in their minds?
He should never have been in a position to have to put on his boots. He should have made sure of that. Other clubs brought in players to make sure they had the right personnel in place before the deadline- KR did not. That is in large part his failing.
Whatever people think of JP as a past player- he just seems way out of his depth off the field in this kind of role.

| Peacock might be doing his job very well, but no one outside of the club seems to understand quite what his remit is.
His arrival has coincided with a car crash of a season. He's bound to be seen as guilty by association.
Sad way for a champion player to bow out though.

| Peacock is not to blame solely for this season. This has been coming since a few years ago.
Hudgel and Crossland bare the brunt for this horrible horrible season, and I will also say Chester also (good luck wakey next year, you'll need it now he's got a full season and pre season with you).
We've gone down the cheap route since 2009 and the progressive decline should of set alarm bells ringing well before this season.
So now we are in this mess and the thing that does spring to mind harps back the the fans forum, when a guy ask the question that rovers could be relagated. Peacock literally scoffed and made fun at the possibility of it, that now has become a reality and I hope that this air of arrogance has now gone. Anything can happen.
It looks like we're going full time next year. Hudge has pretty much confirmed this. So the players we need to keep, I hope have a conscience, and realise they've got us in this mess and be good enough to repay both the club and fans by staying. Tho I'm not naive to realise some will not give a fig and move elsewhere.
Hudge and Crossland now look set to lose £1.5 million between them now. Time to stop ploughing money into sponsoring Hull city and put that money into our club.
Going to be an interesting week to say the least.

Unlikely and we were fine before you were promoted and will be next season. We just made a tidy sum from the Cup win and there may be extra sponsorship revenues with us being the city's only Super League club.
To be honest you should be more concerned with your own attendances. Only 5500 home supporters there yesterday.

I don't fully agree with this. We did enough to win both games but blew them. Kelly wiuldn't have had the mental strength to xhange much.
However, we'll never know and dwelling on it doesn't help. Move on, accept our fate and hope the board invest heavily this year in the right places to fet promotion ASAP.
