Blair tipped Westerman up, slightly,and Allgood "supposedly" applied pressure to someone's neck. Be surprised if any bans come out of this.

I saw the blair tackle, hit him between knee & hip a text book technique how they can think it was deliberate just the way it goes. Can't expect every players to work out the force vetors in a split second for every tackle. But with the way we are going you will be penalsed for getting their shorts mucky.

Blair never came out 2nd half today, suggesting he's injured. He may as well slap in an EGP if this is the case.

Blair hurt his groin according to Chezzie on the website. So if he submits an EGP he will miss 1 game at most. I agree with others that a 2 game ban for that tackle would be harsh, so he may get 1 game only. There again the RFL panel make it up on the back of a fag packet.

Nothing in the Allgood challenge on Rankin to warrant a ban, so expect him to receive an NFA.

Depending how long this injury takes to heal, if it's a two week one then keep your early guilty plea for later on in the year. Gunna miss Blair tho. Excellent player.

It doesn't work like that unfortunately, the early guilty plea is a one time deal for the year you can't store them up, whether you take it or not once you receive a ban you ve got to do a full year clean before you earn another EGP

You're right on the injury duration / ban combo suggestion. He should save his EGP for later If he is out for 2 weeks or more.

He's an excellent player who is totally unselfish, understated and underrated. When you watch his defensive workrate he's been outstanding on the left flank supporting Campo, Welham and Mantellato. He runs good lines and passes well in heavy traffic and today he stood up Cudjoe twice and went past him easily. He normally kicks well out of hand, except today. Just wish he could find the try line. He was so close today. For me, every bit as valuable to the team as Campo, Kelly, Sio and Mantellato.

I'd contest both charges, don't think either deserve a suspension. Wouldn't the 2nd game for Blair be the cup tie at Bradford? If we have enough bodies available he might be given a rest anyway.

I think that's the point that was addressed. An EGP is available only when your record is clean. As soon as you get a ban, the option to use it is gone. It can't be saved for later, if you pick up a ban now.

The only way to retain it is to plead not guilty [uand[/u 'win'. Then your record stays clean.

We shouldn't be resting anyone in the challenge cup. We should be going all out to win it.

Seeing as it's grade B and with all the Sky angles to back that up, you can't imagine he has any chance of getting away with it. So may as well cash the EGP card now before it's gone.
I also see he was cited vs Saints for lifting too. Not sure if that's taken into account but his technique maybe a problem when we're on tv. In real time you'd say he's ok and he's just going in low. But, replays show lifting without doing enough to ensure player lands safe enough. All a bit BS but that's the state of the game and disciplinary I guess.

The game is played in real time, split second decisions. Unfortunately it's then taken apart by slow motion, multi-angled cameras to punish players. A bit unfair unless its a cynical foul, done on purpose.

Not entirely sure how the EGP lasts but surely, if reports are correct and Blair has a groin injury, it will be a waste of time taking the EGP because those sort of injuries will take longer than two weeks. May as well keep it in his locker in case he needs it later in the season.

He can't use it later in the season if he cops a ban. You can only use it if you have been squeaky clean for 1 year so even if he doesn't use it, he can't then use it for another year provided he stays out of trouble for that year.

Aye - maybe it is worth people thinking of it in terms of 'previous good character' in a trial.

Imagine Barrington Fishface gets caught red-handed shoplifting in WHSmiths. He's clearly guilty, and that is his plea. But by admitting his guilt and pointing out he has, to this point, had a clean record, he hopes that the judge will be lenient in sentencing.
There's no point him saving his 'previous good character' for the next time he gets caught thieving, when he already has this conviction.
