Well worth taking a chance on. Big, powerhouse wingman who is a great yard-maker and can bust tackles like a second-rower. He's also a great catcher of a high ball on attack. His only drawbacks are a slight tendency for brainfarts in defence, and a slight lack of speed - he's no slouch, but maybe not quite quick enough for SL. Good luck Alex!

The type of big bruising wingman we have needed (Ryan Hall type) for a while, well worth the chance he has been handed.

Just typed in Alex Brown - Highlights in you tube and i have to say he looks a strong guy with a fair bit of pace as well.
Some of the Batley fans say he may have an issue with some high balls in SL but hopefuly in a full time environment its an area of his game that he can improve on, he certainly could be one for the future, how old is he?.

Is this the lad who scored the winner in the NRC final a couple of years back? (when Batley beat Widnes). Obviously I have seen nowt of Batley, but I remember the winger having a belter that day.

Best keep a lid on it and see how he goes rather than attemting to trumpet every signing as a future international. Besides, as frankie points out, the last 2 are already there!

Where does anyone label him the next Uate on the other forum? One poster does say comparison with him and Uate is inevitable and another says he hopes people don't think every winger Rovers sign is another Uate.

He looks decent and hopefully he.ll do ok

seen brown on many occasions... in the under 20's when at huddersfield and he looked a stand out player (came late to rugby league i think) and ready to burst into the super league scene... he got one game at st helens a few seasons back and did very well

unfortunately for brown his rise came at the same time as mcgillvary for us and was no space for him anymore which i was disapointed with and he went off down the road to batley...where as i expected he has been a standout again

Before his time at Huddersfield, he was signed by Barry Eaton for Keighley from one of the Huddersfield amature clubs. Had 2 years with us then went to Rochdale.

Well I was at the game, just couldn't remember the name the the Batley winger. I have attended 3 NRC finals as a neutral since Rovers played in 05 & 06. It's a great day out, made even better when such a small club as Batley can win something that meant the world to them at the time.

I love how the match against Harlequins in that highlight video spears to be taking place in a random field!

I made that post on the other forum I didnt expect the mentally challenged Hull fans to read it so i didnt put in laymans terms for you BETTY, let me explain, Uate was a reserve grade winger, not really going anywhere, a short stocky winger with all the raw materials but no finished product, Sandercock was tasked to look at his game, analysise his weaknesses and coach them out of him, grow his strengths, and build his confidence. But once you had stripped it down the comparison you come up with he is black ? ever though about offering Gentle the benefit of your skills of digging deep into a players capabilities ?
