how do you think rovers will do next year I think we will be 5th,and win at least 2 play of matches and at least the semis of the c cup but i hope better, i think people will talk about g hall in the same breath has is dad i hope,Travis when he starts playing will be a hit with the fans and salter will make the knights and i think we will beat hull twice maybe once in the cup run, i can see 2 more players to come to rovers next year has well what do you think

A bit early for predictions and looking at this season, a bit over optimistic. Just a playoff place and a bit more consistency will do for me then push up the league in 2014.

As this season should have proved too many ,is that you don`t go making predictions, pundits had us too easily get into the top 8 before the season started and then we couldn`t string too many games together for one reason or another.

Whilst i and many will hope for better next year, i reckon we will have similar season due too again a fair few players coming and going.. As for finishing 5th, the realist says no chance for at least a couple more seasons going by current squad as its simply not strong enough to rotate around any potential missing players.

As for winning play off matches... mmm lets not go their and then a challenge cup semi... a lot of luck needed on the draw to go that far and a lot more consistency on the pitch as well..

Anyway, all I want out of Rovers next season, is a team that is not only competative, but one that can actually close out games!

The rest will take care of itself.

Once we know the make-up of the 2013 squad ie the Scott Taylor question, who is being retained, are their any other signings in the pipeline, perhaps we can play this game (not that I am any good at predictions lol).

Would the new rules not force NH's hand over Taylor?

The crowd potentially booing him from May could distrupt your season.

On the squad front I'd have thought a winger would be priority.

Have i missed something here? granted I missed a couple of games in July due to my daughter been in hospital but I don't ever recall the fans booing Scott Taylor. Shannon McDonnell on the other hand, I do remember the booing.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Sherriff and Hall play there.

Cant see us signing another out and out winger on top of the Caro signing. Hodgson, Caro, Hall, Latus and possibly Salter give us plenty of options there.

Taylor wont be booed. He will have signed a new deal or be long gone by next May. I wouldnt be surprised to see a bidding war between Wigan, Leeds and Wire begin shortly..

Much as I'd regret Taylor's departure, he'd just be a pro player who wants to move on - not worthy of booing.
But then if booing is a concern - you're free to announce things earlier, not obliged to. At most we (the club) can say we've offered a contract or withdrawn an offer.
How many significant figures have been involved at both clubs? Joe Oliver played for and coached us, Colin Hutton was a player with you, Arthur Bunting a player and coach with us, Johnny Whiteley coached us, Clive Sullivan and so on and so on. Not putting Taylor in that exalted company at this early stage of his career, but it's hardly an uncrossable divide.
There'd maybe be the odd numbskull, I guess, but mostly we'd just start to look beyond him to the future. Hope he stays, mind.
