The York game was the one after St Helens. Poor kid was still recovering from being last line of defence. He came back brilliant towards the end of the season.

Thats funny, I can't remember many Wakey fans saying that they were gonna win the grand final.

As for Cockayne, yes he's a decent player but lets not carried away eh there's a few better than him at this stage.

Exactly what most of us are saying, "at this stage". The question is has Ben got what it takes to be a future GB international.

I'v seen him play 4 or 5 times and I rate him as one of , if not the best of your players, however he is yet to play a superleague game yet so it's a bit early to be talking about him as a GB international. I'm not saying he won't make it but lets just wait a bit eh.

The following players are already way ahead of Cochayne in the pecking order:

Wellens - Saints
Briscoe - Hull
Reardon - Warrington
Ashton - Wigan
Fitzpatrick - Salford

who have played this position before and possibly even Lee Smith

so by my reckoning at present he may be approx 10th in the queue, assuming I haven't missed anyone else out.

In 3 years time he most probably will be 5th or 6th in the queue but thats about it.

It is a massive step up from NL to the Super League. If he is to get even anywere near the BG forty man squad he needs to perfrom as one of the best full backs week in week out. If he carries on improving maybe in 4-5 years, but the likes of Cooke, Coley, Briers etc (i am not aying they are full backs) have been perfroming well over the past few years and do not get in the side. Wellens will take a huge amount of shifting from that place

MMMmmm Briscoe better than Cockayne you say. Not so sure about that one. In a Hull/Rovers 13 I would pick Cockayne.

Got to say i think Ben has a natural ability at full back ive not seen since steve hampson,he has that something special that wreaks of greatness,he has the ability to make all supporters home and away gasp in disbelif,he will go a long long way,and hes very very proud and very very happy to be a robin!
