Really sad day although he was on his final warning and that means final, what a waste of a great player and I hope he sorts his head out cheers Ben for the last five years, the club had no choice really.

I wish Ben the best of luck, he is part of some of my fondest HKR memories, but enough was enough, he had to go! Just a shame he could not have kept on the straight and narrow, if so I think he would have been a Rovers' player for years to come.

even though i dont like the guy he was quite a good player on the field waste of talent, he is rumoured with crusaders for next season so be intresting to see if that happens

Whilst I'm not one of these people that thinks that players should be the guardians of moral virtue, if you're on a final warning and the players are on a drinking ban; to do what he did shows either a lack of brain cells or a lack of respect for his employers.
I hope that a few weeks playing at NL level, wakes him up to the fact that has hard as it is, being well paid to do a job you love is a privelege and when another SL team signs him up (which they will) he doesn't make the same mistakes again.
Thank for your contribution on the field, good luck on it in the future (not against us of course).

Probably best place for him, they need to make him move over there and get him away from Normanton.

Its a shame that it had to end like this but the club have done the right thing. He leaves us with great memories of some of his tries and celebrations.
Clint is going to have to wind up our friends from the West on his own now.

I blame his peers for this! If they'd worked as hard as Ben has this season he wouldn't have been on a drinking ban and would have been allowed to celebrate Liams 21st!!

Only kidding, he knew the rules, he knew his situation better than anyone. Sad to see him leave and it isn't just what he did on the field, his work in the community, schools and training camps are all things that he should be proud of too.

I don't think we can call him a legend but he's deffinately left a fondness in a lot of fans' hearts. A name that will not be forgotten too easily around these parts I can tell ya!

Feels like an end of an era, with another National League player disappearing, but so be it.

The kind of player you want in your team on the pitch this guy, sadly acting like he did off it was always going to end up on the wrong road.

I suspect there will be, thankfully it's no longer at our club.

Never met the guy so I can't say whether I like him or not as a person but most of the time he has played his heart out for Hull KR and helped them through the bad times. I hope he finds another club and can get on with his career. Personally, I'm not one to judge behaviour of others, don't care what is politically correct, each person can decide how they want to live. He is paying the price, but thanks a lot Ben for all you've done, be happy.

Ben is a lovely guy used to speak to him wen he lived round the corner from us he seemed settled and stayed out of bother whilst he lived around here the problem was when he moved back to the normanton area, I am gutted that he has gone his playing skills are great but am sure he will turn his life round.

Its always a shame to see talent going down the pan, he was an integral part of KR. He always lifted the whole team when he came on or by his actions on the field, true he was disliked by the opposition and for good reason he had an ability to wind players up.

I hope he find some sort of solution to his career, I know his leaving is going to leave a massive hole in your ranks at a vital time of the season.

As a player he was great & just what the club needed. I understand the clubs stance & support thier descision. My only misgivings are that he will get a place at some other club (so much for standards) the other thing I feel needs to be said is that his last incident (as I understand it) was about him being out drinking when told not to. Nothing to do with any unlawfull acts. I feel uneasy when others start commenting on things the club have no control of (ie peoples conduct when not on club duty) lets face it fans dont get banned from the ground if they are in trouble with the law do they?
I hope he turns his self round & I will watch his carreer with interest.

hes a fool for his off field antics, but hes gonna be hard to replace on it, theres not many players like him out there right now IMO

The only and correct decision that could be made. For once the board has got it right.

For me,sad to see him go,100% every game,loved the fans and vica versa,but I feel he left the club with no choice.! Good luck wherever you end up and thanks for your fantastic effort on the pitch.

Thank you for the good times Ben. The MOM performances in 2006 (inc the incredible Grand Final display), that match-winning try in the first SL game against Wakey, the enthusiasm and rapport with the fans, all and everything else will not be forgotten.
Shame it's had to end like this, and IMO the club have done the right thing, but over the last five years he's been one of the most reliable players we've had. Just wish he could have sorted himself out, cos I fear it could be downhill for him from here now.
