There's a family sit-com called Outnumbered that is quite funny. The Mighty Boosh is erratic - brilliant at its best, but there can be few more depressing words in comedy than 'when you are the moon...'. Marion and Geoff was truly great, IMO. I got The Thick of it on DVD recently and it was almost as good as Yes Minister, which is clearly one of its inspirations.

For drama, the Sopranos sits alone on a pinnacle, so far above everything else that it has ruined most of the rest for me. Deadwood and The Wire deserve a place in its shadow - which I regard as being very high praise indeed.

I used to love "...Buzzcocks" but with this new multi presenter format it's lost some of it's appeal.

As an aside do we actualy watch as much TV as we used to as with so many chanels we all seem to (in my opinion) stick with what we know & like & very occasionaly see shows that we might actualy like by pure chance. My Sky box is always tuned to sports or news now.

I can't get into most American TV series like Lost, lie to me, Stargate etc though. I like to be able to dip in and out of a show without feeling like I've missed everything and I don't know whats going on

I have and it is truly amazing. I couldnt beleive it when i found out Stringer Bell was English in real life? how good is his accent!!!....................i still think the Sopranos just edges it overall though.

Indeed it is amazing. McNulty is also played by an English actor and Carcetti is really Irish.

Two and a half men. Even if you don't find it funny; the talent on there is worth the watch.
