No disrespect to Celtic, but Widnes and Fax fans must be feeling like going ballistic.

The circumstances are beyond the RFL's control , but Leeds could certrainly benefit on the points difference.

I would imagine the teams that may have more to complain about are the ones who lost to Celtic.

I'm not sure if Halifax applied for a SL franchise last season.

As for Widnes , it was Celtic's business plan and expanionist location that made theirs a successful bid.

and no matter which team or teams will be in the same situation as cc and salford as the new boys as the gap is too far between the leagues so there is honestly no point in the franchises...

a team coming from a cap of 300k/400k will have to enrol virtually a new squad just to MAYBE compete.

The club hasn't been found guilty of anything yet. Investigations still ongoing. At present, the only people responsible are the players. That's what the report says.

Just boot them out(Celtic) they offer nothing to the game.Promote a club that has some rugby league history.And when they have gone lets get rid of the mob from London whose attendance last week was 2,600.Lets promote what we already have and stop prattling around with areas that dont want and never will want rugby league.

It will be interesting to see what the RFL do about this and whether (which is almost inevitable) they treat Celtic differently to how they would any other club in the league.

Surely it is up to the club to ensure these players have the correct paper work in plac, judging by the hoops that teams such as Hull, Bradford and Leeds have had to jump through to get players in (or be denied entry) then it seems the checks are being carried out by others.

I know there was the Thackaray incident last year when the RFL failed to exclude a team from a comp when fielded illegally but even then a record fine was imposed. So in this instance the club must bear some level of responsibility.
