This has been coming since Justin Morgan left. Poor coaches who couldn’t lay down a game plan or motivate the team. Poor recruitment since the likes of Vella; Newton and Galea. Players coming with injuries and on excessive salaries. Lack of depth in the squad due to having to pay one individual an excessive salary to sit on the side lines. That salary would have paid for three possibly four decent quality players. A team with no spirit; no passion; no pride in the shirt; no will to win; tactically naïve and poor quality players; no defensive ability; coaches with no plan B let alone C and D; recruitment of outside backs when the world and his friend knew that we needed were forwards and a specialist full back; poor discipline both on and off the field; and finally a pre-season that was nothing short of a joke that should have set the alarm bells ringing. After Wembley I thought that we had reached rock bottom; but no. And every time I think that we are finally as low as we can possibly go these players and coaches take us even further down. And regrettably I don’t think we are at rock bottom even yet. I personally don’t blame Peacock as the rot had set in long before his appointment.
