There was a lad who had a loan spell with Cas a while back, possibly from Wigan. Played well on Sky in a game I saw. But a wiki wander tells me he was Ben Davies, not this lad Kavanagh.
And Davies career hasn't exactly taken off. One good game on Sky maybe isn't a compelling reason to sign a player, in fairness.

My thoughts are that if Kavanagh would be replacing Esslements position/standing in the squad then it is a step forward. If he would be replacing big Tony P then it would be a step backwards.
