I was hoping Premier would get a shout as the Sky coverage has just got too 'comfy' and imo needs a shake up. New anchors are needed though moving forward, I cancelled my sky sports at the end of last season as I spent most of it watching with the sound turned down rather than listen to the cringe worthy efforts, I have kept premier on for the nrl and hopefully championship games but won't be renewing sky (for now at least). The rwc coverage from premier showed that it can be presented in an entertaining way without the need for stevo bingo. We have now sold our soul to sky for the foreseeable future so lets hope they have a better package lined up.

The difference should go equally to all the other non-SL clubs.

This money goes to the RFL, the RFL have a responsibility to not only make the elite competition the best it can be in terms of financially and commercially but also enhance the grass roots levels of the game.

While the main focus of this deal is purely to do with the SL and Championship1 the RFL have to make sure that the game deeper gets what it financially needs. This has to increase so to allow those clubs attracting a few hundred spectators at best, can still afford to pay their players, pay for their stadia and training facilities while not forgetting the amateur game.

While 12m or so sounds a lot of money to be going in to the back pocket, once it is spread throughout the divisions below C1 I hazard a guess that there will be nothing left if not an over draft needed!

It would be nice if this money was to be shared among the SL clubs to make them better but all it would do is make the top line players richer and the same standard for the foreseeable future. We need more people playing the game, more clubs financially stable and more wealthy backers coming in to the sport.

Sounds good. Conforming to a RL stereotype, but where is the snag?
