| not sure I'd put bentham in the decent category tbh.
like you I wasn't sold on 2 refs in the NRL at first but it works really well over there. Just think if they brought it in over here we'd end up with thaler and bentham every week and get screwed both ways!

| Having just seen the Sharks v Bulldogs I dont think that 2 refs would be any better they got 4 or 5 decisions totaly wrong & even penalised the Dogs captain for asking them to look at the video wich showed them to be totally wrong. My opinion is that the refs are failing to penalise numerous offsides & incorrect play the balls in the name of speeding up the game, yet they heavily penalise the slightest contact with the head in the tackle or the hand near the ball in the ruck. With back to back sets costing teams way in excess of the severity of the penalised ofence the refs are having far to big an influence on the outcome of the result. They even ignore the fact a droped ball is not a knock on unless it travels forward off the hand. I think we should look again at how penaties are graded with only serious foul & dangerous play (striking, triping, deliberate offside & cheating) should be a full penalty the rest (obstruction, offside, kicking off out on the full & other technical infringements) a tap on the point of the offence should be awarded. It would not stop the ref awarding a penalty if he thinks a team is habitualy offending to wast time or save a try. I have probably missed some point but the addministrators should realy ask us the customer what we want to see out on the pitch, for me I want to see the rules of the game applied every time there is an offence not when they feel like it just to speed up the game.
