| Phelps is touch and go according to the local rag but has been ever present this season, a great support player.

| Well done on your win today.
We were up against from the off today & we didn't look like winning even though it was a tight enough scoreline to keep all parties interested till the end.
Your pack started strongly and when both our starting props & one of our halves went off early, not to return, the game was up. I think Terry Hallibut was average today and perhaps he (& deffo the touchy) should have seen the forward pass for one of your try's and also done more than give a penalty for Websters elbow on Dean but all said and done you got a deserved 2 points.
Galea was great for you today.

| On the win, I thought most of Rovers senior players stood tall and shouldered the responsibility against a very (at times over) enthusiastic Widnes. It was a captain's job by Benny G. He wasn't quite right last week but was almost faultless yesterday. Its a pity Blake got injured because he looked as though he was getting back into the groove. Overall, it was a good performance although defensively it was still wafer thin at times.
I heard CS saying in his after-match report he will persevere with the young guns and I for one applaud this decision. Its better late than never, and I would like CS to trial some of the other kids over the next 5 matches.
I thought Dave Petersen was the pick of the bunch with his work-rate and distribution. Louis Sheriff looked solid in both defence and attack, he cancelled out his howler with a cracker of a try at the end. Both these players should be on the teamsheet next week.
Whilst George Griffin staked his claim with good go-forward and solid defence, I would like to see James Green given a chance next week.
Another player I would like to see next week is Aaron Ollet. Laithwaite is steady enough but lets promote our own players now that CS has got a taste for it.
As for Liam Salter and Chris Heil, IMO it would have been better if they had been paired together. I say this because Webbo had a stinker of a game. Okay he played on with an injury but he was the weakest link and a burden to the young guns (including Sheriff). I might be a bit harsh with that comment because he did marshall all three, but he didn't practice what he was preaching!

| Great win, the young lads look ready to me!
One mistake by Sheriff (which in my opinion was not his fault as he should never have been given the ball in that position).
All the others looked very solid, and hungry, Dave Peterson should now kick on and keep his place.
The one negative for me was that Jake Webster had another shocker, I hate to say this about any player but I can’t wait to see the back of this guy!
Well done Rovers.

| Dave Petersen has been playing great for Workington Town so it is no surprise to us Town fans that he put in a great performance. Whilst we would love to have him with us for the Championship 1 play-offs, I'm sure all Town fans wish Dave well and hopefully he will kick on now and get a regular SL team place.
