I think if it was resisted when Rovers were on the brink of extinction, it would easily be fought off now both clubs (in the grand scheme of things) are doing pretty well with strong respective fan bases.
It's a bit of a tangled web regarding Pearson, Allam and the stadium, so I guess it's a case of we'll see what happens - but this is more Hull FC's concern at the moment. I'm pretty confident that the people involved in running Hull KR will always act in the club's best interest rather than for their own financial gain.
As for the initial point about the relationship between the two clubs; I wholeheartedly agree that it needs to be better. I'm certain this can be done at boardroom level and a little more mutual respect and joint effort could actually see both club's fan bases increase as long as the rivalry is not diluted, but shown to be more than just the odd fisticuffs between fans, cheap point scoring and squabbles over player contracts.
