We had 3 penalties in very kickable positions tonight, but chose to run the ball each time and came away with nothing. In those conditions it was pretty obvious points would be hard to come by so why didn't the word go out to kick the penalty goals?

We saw the other week @ Hudds that CS was keen on 2pts bang in front to square it up against Hudds so, I'd assume he calls the shots. I don't recall 3 kickable penalties tho. The one half way thru the first half bang in front - we should've taken the two. I'm sure many thought it and had repeated conversations about it.

I remember 2 ,and thought at the time we should have kicked instead of running the ball.

I'm normally a disciple of taking the two but on two of these occasions tonight we had heavy pressure on the Catalans line and I felt it was the right call.

Obviously I didn't for see that we'd just wang the ball anywhere and then drop it.

Cost us big time not taking the two points on offer on those occasions, huge mistake!

After watching it on sky late last night, it was 2 penalties in front of the sticks, IMO they should be kicked in weather like that.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.Maybe Rovers thought that they had a good chance to score with the pitch conditions,Cats arn`t as used to the crap weather as we are.

Hindsight is great, but I was there bb, and along with many others in the East stand were calling for the penalties to be kicked,
You may be right, Rovers may have thought they'd score due to the conditions but a penalty is 2 points and the ball back.

Can`t argue with that mate,but the players must know if they feel they have a chance to score a try.

I agree there was 3 not 2 that where kickable.
Ive got mixed feelings on this, most games i hate it when teams take the 2 (and i just picture us going like union) but on this occasion i said go for 2 when we had the chances - the conditions where shocking (certainly couldnt tell how bad on sky) and it was never going to be a high scorer.
What confused me was the 2nd kick Galea said go for 2 and Dobson said no- not sure if he felt upto it or what but surely them decisions should be made by sandy and his game plan.
