It usually means in the 4th quarter of the year, i.e. sometime between Oct-Dec 09 with no fixed release date yet.

However it could (extrordinarily) also refer to the 4th financial quarter of 09/10 which would be Jan-Mar 10.

What region this 'release' date may refer to could be somewhat different too.

Unfortunately, the SL license doesn't cover likeness rights for the players, unlike the NRL license, sorry.

Is it something that could be resolved in future releases though? Or is it a case of never happening?

I'm not exposed to the details of the license, but I imagine it unlikely given the players themselves don't provide likeness rights to the SL. HES would have to do individual deals with each SL player, and that just isn't practical unfortunately.

I hope there's the option for the Loose Forward to pick up from the base of the scrum rather than always the Scrum half.

Also, the unlikely option of contesting a scrum, too.

We have historically used official stats, though this time have opted for a hybrid approach - official stats with some alteration. You can always customise if you don't agree.

Any further info regarding the release date, As we are in Q4 of 2009. Christmas time?

Would you know the answer to the following gameplay questions?

1) Can the Loose (Lock) Forward pick up the ball from the base of the scrum rather than scrum half?

2) Can you "do a Jimmy", i.e. from a play the ball about a metre from the try line, have the dummy half attempt to power through the legs of the defenders to score?

3) For scrums and tap penalties, is there any "special plays" you can organise, or indeed can you call them mid-sequence? e.g. organise the attack for a "barrel" maneuver from a tap, obviously not in the style of Madden games for EVERY play!

4) Whilst fights are (rightfully) outlawed, could, according to aggression stats, a player retaliate once resulting in a double red/yellow card?

5) Is the (extremely rare) 8 point try possible?

6) Can a scrum be won against the head under any circumstances?

7) Could crowd noise include any (generic or specific and non-offensive) chants? Maybe as an unlockable for Wigan-Saints games, or other derby combinations?

oh well thats saved me having to buy a wii before xmas.

I can confirm that HES has delayed the release of the game until the start of the next season, March 2010, for logistical reasons I can't go into.

2010 I imagine, can't be that hard to switch a player from one team to another, can it?

I am guessing the kits will be the same though.

I think it's more likely going to be 2009 roster otherwise they will have to delay it even more.
