Game looks good compared to last one and will get it on release over here.

question to people who have been playing on this, on career mode before you start can you change and update the playing rosters yourself? also, can you put your created players into the career mode?

As far as I know re. created players in career mode, when you start a career it loads the default squads, so your player wouldn't be in the warrington/leeds/wigan etc squad. There might be the option to change this but I haven't got round to creating players yet...
You can pick your line-up, as with any rl game, before any given game, but signings are only at the end of the season afaik. If signings before playing is really important to you, you could always sim an entire season, which would probably take about ten/fifteen mins cos it's really quick between games (unlike fifa for example) you just tap x a couple of times and you're at next week's game, simulating my entire pre-season took about a minute...
The game is such an improvement on rll1, the stadia look fantastic, the commentry is a slight improvement (alhough I die a little inside when the co-commentator mentions elvis..)
Be prepared for a frustrating first hour though, take everything you know about playing an rl game and forget it, the controls are completely different, I spent my first game putting grubbers in every time I got the ball because i thought it was the sprint button.

Been playing mainly as NRL teams so I can mix it up kit wise as they have all the heritage and vintage shirts on there. I'm only playing on rookie but am slowly getting the hang of it.

Can't kick for sh*t though, just goes down the fullbacks throat every time or gets charged down. Only mistake I make consistently is pressing B slightly before pressing LB or RB and chipping the ball as opposed to passing it.

Well ater pre ordering mine over a month aago and also having to pay extra to have it delivered on the day, its not arrived. The retailer i brought it from are normally world class, there seems to be quite a few having this issue of them not receiving the game but with different retailers. Anyone else having this issue?

I dont mind it but have a few issues

The play the ball is too slow.
The amount of interceptions is a joke.
Player stats seemed flawed
Im a Wakey fan and cant see how we are better rated than the Rhinos

The interceptions are pretty bad, i also get pinged for forward passes from the PTB quite a lot. I find it difficult to pass to the first person next to the PTB too, always have to pass it to the second receiver.

Problems with the kicking in general play too, it's always a second rower or winger who drops back into the pocket.

I had trouble passing to the first receiver at first too, but that was because I was holding RB/R1 when doing it, if you just tap it then it works.

It's growing on me. I've learned not to play at the line to avoid interceptions. If you can get decent kicks to touch, it helps as your kick chase is a bit poor. It's pretty attritional, defend-complete-defend and wait for a error. I've scored a handful of decent tries, but rely mainly on opposition errors - dropped balls and (especially) interceptions. I've frustratingly lost quite a few games very narrowly (on rookie level), but as I'm playing as Hull KR mk2012 that in itself is pretty realistic.
If I can master the grubber kick I think I might do a lot better.
Holding down in the tackle is well worth while to get your line set, and the ref gives you a warning.
There are a few glitches - not registering your pass, then chucking it forward when you try again as mentioned above. Your tackle command turning into an unwanted grubber, on a sudden and unexpected interception, also.
Overall - I'd say 6.5/10. 7 making allowances.
If Amateur level was any sort of challenge or rookie was a bit easier, with the next level were rookie is it'd be better. I suspect I'll never go up to 'veteran' or 'professional' (I think that's what they're called), given that rookie is pretty draining.

The only thing I don't like it the kicking game, both performing kicks and also defending bombs or grubbers. I find bombs nigh on impossible to defend!
This is the only aspect I feel is worse than the previous game. Everything else is miles better.

I haven't played it much but would agree that Amateur level is far too easy (just run forward and score a try) and Rookie is too difficult. It's especially annoying on Rookie when the AI just runs through a big gap in your defensive line that you can't close, yet those gaps never appear in the AI defensive line. However that's nowhere near as annoying as the interceptions. Far too many, and most of the time when I get an interception my player immediately either grubbers or chips the ball forward as I'd pressed the tackle button while he was defending. Very annoying.
Some of the team ratings are a bit strange, and it's a shame there doesn't appear to be a World Cup or Challenge Cup comp.
Other than that though its far superior to the previous version, from the menus to there being an attrition element of play to the far far far better graphics.

Few tips for people who are complaining, don't button bash that's the only way you get intercepted. When at the PTB don't use your directional stick as the hooker runs that way with the ball which causes the over running and a forward pass

Interesting. Can't say I've come across too many 'bugs' yet but there are things that could be improved.

I seem to have been awarded a penalty try the other day. As my player was putting the ball down he was tackled (rather high I guess) yet still got it down. The ref went to the screen, the try was given yet the kick was taken infront of the posts as opposed to out wide. Came in handy as I won by 2 points

Taken a lot of patience and perseverance but it's now gone from being immensely frustrating to genuinely good.

1st year career with Cas Tigers on Pro setting - finished 12th but only 4pts off a play-off place (won 8 drew 2 - much better than in reality).

Was mystified when I learnt Catalans won the Challenge Cup (without any user involvement - would be great if it was playable and embedded into regular season).

Just started 2nd season and had real fun making some improbable signings (whilst re-signing every player I wanted to keep):

Mead / Jennings / Lewis / Henderson / Finch - you can really tell the difference in quality.

Has anyone played this online yet? I tried last night against a mate, the lag was unreal. You couldn't play it, impossible to tackle. He scored a try, but on my screen he dived 5 yards short of the line.

Anyone else had these issues, could have been a local connection problem.

Played a few games online only had 1 lag problem and the other player quit, not going to bother playing online until after the patch is out as it will hopefully remove the scummy short kickoffs that people do.

Not lost online yet, but only completed 2 matches due to people quitting when I'm ahead.

I actually like this game. The biggest problem for me is how flat the attacking line is.

Does anyone one know how to change the difficulty?

Got it for and I am impressed with the improvements on the last game but still a lot needs sorting.
It's a fun game to play, but the interceptions annoy me, when you are attacking and they take it off you and get through your line it's pretty impossible to catch them. When you are defending tackle and kick are te same button so if you do intercept you are prone to kicking it straight back!

Career mode is really good and the stadiums are very realistic, super league players not so realistic but that doesn't take away from the game!

Has anyone found any hidden extras yet like in the other games, eg playing in the colliseum?

Pleased the city of Manchester stadium is on there but shame about wembley.

City of Manchester stadium isn't on there, the "Etihad Stadium" is in Melbourne.

Ah yes that does make more sense, and I did wonde why I played Catalans twice in France!
