The breakfast ale went down very well at 4pm and with a 50p coupon from Camra I thought I was hearing things at £1.39.

| I've been into Sheffield a couple of times this week and been charged as much as £2.10 (Bankers Draft) but as little as £1.75 (Swim Inn). I really should start using the latest batch of 50p vouchers

| Spoons Festival 27/03/2015;
Salopian Indigenous 5.5% strong ale (Gatehouse, Doncaster)
Elgoods Spring Challenge 3.7% bitter (Gatehouse, Doncaster)
They also had a Wharfebank brew on but it turned out to be Washbank Best 3.7% as opposed to the 'festival ale' Othelia Gold. Still, it was nice enough and the sort of thing you could certainly have a few pints of.
Just as I was contemplating leaving they put Brains A Pocket Full Of Rye on ... It would have been rude not to

| Looks like the festival ales have now disappeared.
43 out of 50 sampled this time (including all 10 of the international brews).

Did get in and manage a quick pint but it was about 2.35pm, so just a flying visit. Tried the 1194 Charter, a porter at 5.5% ... very enjoyable.
The Gatehouse had a Milestone stout post-match ... Chocoholic 4.8% ... enjoyed that too.

| Cask Corner had Liverpool Organic Brewery Empire Ale at 5.3%. Amber ale with a touch of sweetness (caramel) It was delightful. The wheat beer in the Tap (Silver Link) is the brew that Ian has made for the Beer festival - its a proper winner, hint of ginger about it but so smooth.

| Finally made it into the Market Place Alehouse & Deli on Friday evening.
Enjoyed a couple of decent real ales, British Beer Factory Seven 4.2% (which I've had before) and Half Moon Dark Masquerade 3.6% (which I haven't).
It would be an expensive place to spend the whole evening, 2 rounds of 2 drinks each, totalled over £16.00.
