The alarm bells should have stated ringing in March when we got beat in the challenge cup by North Wales Crusaders 40-12, very poor management as put the club in the position it finds itself in at the moment.

Thornton did say post match yesterday that his plans were disrupted on Thursday when Jordan Abdull was called up by Hull to their matchday squad, as we had been told we could use him. Its just a shame that Sa got injured.
I'd love to see what impact Abdull could make alongside Wilkinson, as with Abdulls kicking game and Wilkinsons mobility, it could be interesting.

Abdull ... unfortunately with this agreement that could happen on a regular basis.

Wilkinson ... we'd need to get him fit and then hope it stays that way ... I hope he's not another player who seems to get one injury after another.

I'm very passionate about the club and hate to see us in the state we're in but I don't particularly feel inclined to give anyone at the club a tough time over it. They'll be hurting in just the same way I am, just like we all are.

No doubt mistakes have been made in a number of key areas by all factions of the club. I'm sure all parties would turn back time and do things differently if they could. Nobody would choose for us to be in this position. Sometimes in life, people do what they think is best, and even though their intentions are good, they turn out badly. That's what's happened here. A number of things seem to have conspired against us at once and our world seems to have caved in.

The important thing is to learn from those mistakes and move forward. That's what we've got to do now.

Hopefully, Gary Thornton and Peter Green can start to pick up the pieces and prepare us for the rest of this season and next season. I'm certain they'll want to make sure the mistakes of this season aren't repeated too.

I know Sando ended up playing in the halves once Cunningham went off, and I think (I'm not 100% sure) that Emmett and Kes kept swopping into scrum half.

As much as I love rugby and the Dons, I absolutely hate politics.

Politicians always answer the question they wished had been asked, and never the one that had actually been asked. Politics is the last thing I'd ever want to get involved in but I wouldn't mind being the interviewer asking the questions!

I know we all want the best for the club because we care. I just wish there was a magic wand we could wave to turn back the clock to the end of last season and do things differently because what has happened is going to set us back for some considerable time to come. Assuming Championship 1 is calling us, it's going to be a tough old league to get out of, never mind having a side that would be good enough to cope with coming back up again.

I was meaning that getting a side together to get promoted would be hard enough but that is probably only half the battle. Having a team that is good enough to stay up would be even more difficult.

It'll be interesting to see how the promoted teams from Championship 1 do next season. I've got a feeling that we could be back to the days where promoted teams really struggle after coming up.

I've not read anything about the RFL financial structuring of the leagues for next season. Does anyone know the differences in money allocation between the Championship and Championship 1?

From what I've seen of teams this season, I'd say that Whitehaven and Hunslet are about on a par with each other, and maybe Workington are just a bit better when they've got the lads in from Wigan. Maybe Batley are at a similar level to Whitehaven and Hunslet?

That probably means we've got three realistic opportunities of wins: Whitehaven at home, Hunslet at home, and Batley away. The other remaining games would need a few rabbits to be pulled out of hats for us to win them but who knows? After the first win, we might get a few?

London Home: 6%
Featherstone Away: 7%
Whitehaven Home: 25%
Batley Away: 20%
Hunslet Home: 25%

In terms of odds that's London 16 to 1; Featherstone 14 to 1; Whitehaven 3 to 1; Batley 4 to 1; Hunslet 3 to 1.

Now, the bookies would have to factor in a little profit margin, so based on my thinking the odds for the London game would probably be:

Dons: 11/1
Draw: 40/1
London: 1/16

It'll be interesting to see how the bookies price the game up when their odds come out.

Why is it that when ever another game is looming where my head says we get another hammering, my heart says " Do you know what we can do this this week"- bonkers I know, but it comes with 36 yrs of Dons watch. Its expected the everlasting optimism.
