Dave Sampson had two sons Dean & Paul & a daughter called Denise.

Paul played rugby union for Wasps & Denise was an Olympic sprinter.

His brother Malcolm was also a rugby league player Lee may nave been a relative of the Sampson family.

Lee was Dave's nephew.
