I agree that Richard Horne has been loyal to the Donny players. In recent weeks, the statements he has put out have suggested that he was only going to bring in one or two Hull players whereas we'd be told by the club that five players could be available and we would have the choice of some of the better players.

I like and respect loyalty so I can understand where Richard Horne appears to be coming from but personally, I'd be grabbing the best five players I could from Hull and build the rest of the team around them for this tough opening game.

Their coach must think he has got out of jail ...

Logic dictates that we always get the sweepings up from Hull, since they have enough problems of their own.
AND you can't have two bosses and serve them equally.

I agree with a lot of what has been said. I’m not a fan of DR at all and would rather we spent the money on better players of our own. But Mr Hall belives the deal he has arranged with Hull is our best chance of promotion. So why wouldn’t you use the arrangement to the max and have the 5 best Hull players available... Horne could find him self under big pressure in a few weeks time. A lot of his signings this season don’t fill me with much optimism. Hope to be proved wrong

I have to pinch myself that he got Franky and Beryl last season ... so he has done good things.

He has both of those were top signings but signing numerous players from amateur clubs isn’t going to get us promoted. We needed 3 or 4 signings of the like of those 2.

Well I agree ... they would be good if we had a reserve side.
But we really don't have the time to bring them on and make them quality players.
We need to be in the Championship and need players to get us there pronto.

It will be interesting to see how the bookies view this game. I suspect that Newcastle will be 6 or 8 point favourites.

Good luck to the seventeen that are chosen and to Richard and Pete and all the backroom staff. Tough tough start at the title second favourites but all the best lads.

To be fair I think the 19 looks pretty good, there are obvious omissions and I thought we'd get a bit more x factor from hull in light in of these omissions. However we are where we are now, that team are more than capable of winning if they play the rigt way. I feel Horne has put some pressure on himself but thats for him to deal with.

I understand the frustration of us not signing a player whos name we know to help get us promoted but that hasnt worked recently has it...
The amateur players we have signed in recent seasons have been far better i cant wait for this seasons amateurs to make their names known

I have no qualms with the players we have signed, i am assuming these players have been scouted and assesed by people who know a lot more than me. I just don't think we have enough.

I said earlier i think this was the decision of Rich Horne rather than Hull refusing to let more players go to Doncaster for your opening game.
You needed a full back so he has gone for Connor Wynne
You needed a second row and he has gone for Langtree.If Hull didnt want to let the better players go then they wouldnt have made Langtree available as he is one of the better reserve players and from the preseason games was probably unlucky not to be in Hulls 19 for the opening games.
Horne obviously sees your front row and backs as adequate otherwise i am certain he would have drafted in either Levy or Jack Brown in the front row and either Logan or Cameron Scott in the centre.
Miloudi has an injury from the Castleford game so wouldnt have been available anyway

I see our front row, particularly one individual, as inadequate and he should be looking to bolster in our forwards.
I can see him coming into conflict with the guy who worked hard at putting this deal together if he loses.

After logging in all I got was a blank screen with buffering and a statement saying, "No Live Stream". I'm worried the same might happen for the Dons game tomorrow.
