| Final day of the JDW festival was Sunday so despite not feeling 100% thought I should make the effort.
Red Lion - Odell Brewing Co (US) 90 Shilling Ale 5.3% and Belhaven St Andrews Ale 4.9% - a couple of stronger bitters. Slight preference for the latter but both were very nice.
Old Angel - Woodfordes Ketts Rebellion 4.3% another enjoyable Bitter from the Norfolk Brewery.
Gatehouse - Moorhouse Pendle Porter 5.0% a very decent Chocolate-influenced Porter to conclude the session.

| Dipped into the southern end of West Yorkshire this afternoon ...
Had an excellent pint in the Reindeer at Overton in the shape of Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby (a mild at 6.0%) and a further pint of Acorn Barnsley Bitter (whose availability seems to be on the increase) in the Anglers Retreat at Wintersett.
Carvery lunch and a pint of Black Sheep Bitter at the Angel at Ackworth to conclude proceedings.

| Not real ale I know..........in fact just about as far away as possible.
I was at the Coventry game with my grandson and foolishly got a pint at half-time while he had a burger.
£3.40 for a pint of pre-pulled, standing-around-for-god-knows-how-long lager.
Never again!
No wonder that place is losing money hand over fist.
Contrast that to the Lakeside pub before the game ...... packed out with Rovers fans inside and out and I had a lovely pint of Black Sheep, albeit in a plastic glass.
Two business models ... one a resounding success the other an abject failure.
PS We won the tickets so we didn't pay, but quite how true Rovers fans watch this week in week out I don't know.
Dire!

| Innis and Gunn Original 6.6% whilst on my travels in Toronto.
At around £8, it's by far the most expensive pint i've ever had, but it was spectacularly good.
Also tried Alexander Keith's IPA, a Canadian brew. It was terrible.
Last but no means least I was tipped off about [url=http://www.montecarlo.com/restaurants/the-pub.aspxthis place[/url in Las Vegas.
Had well over 100 beers on tap, so needless to say I had a fair few in here the highlights being Meantime London Porter, Tenaya Nut Brown Ale, and Samuel Adams' Octoberfest.

can you update me lads ?
not having been to blighty for a few years now can you tell me if pubs in the uk are still closing weekly at an alarming rate due to the lack of interest etc ? is the british boozer really becoming a thing of the past ?
just had a blast from the past - having been weaned on Adnams Ales on the East Coast I found a bottle of Broadside in a local 'english' shop - it cost me £2 !!!!! but worth every centime - it was bootiful !
on the label it says 'Brewery Of The Year 2011' as voted by the Good Pub Guide - Well done Adnams
comments lads & lasses...

I'm sure I've commented on this thread before but have become increasingly disappointed by that particular pub.
