| I've got a few questions for Wahs:
What constitutes a team worth following and supporting?
Is it one that plays perfect rugby all the time? A team that never loses? A team that wins by 50 points in every game? A team that never makes any mistakes?
Sport is unpredictable. There are 13 men doing their absolute best to stop you achieving what you want to achieve. Swinton's effort was awesome and they deserve great credit for the way they stuck at their task. And in their case it was 12 men who stuck at the task.
The Dons eased up somewhat and almost paid the price. We're not good enough to be able to win games without being at our best, and that nearly cost us, but once any team get some momentum going (as Swinton did) it is hard to stop them.
Give some credit to Swinton and cut the Dons some slack. They don't normally come up short in the effort and application department. Sunday was an exception - as onedon pointed out, we have only lost one home game all season, which is a better reflection on where the Dons are at.
The club and the players deserve our full support.

| I feel as though I'm missing something here. Agreed it was a poor performance but again it was another win. On the back of a big performance against leigh and with a lot of changes in the team it was going to be tough but it was a win. The negative people saying it would put them off going back need to look at the league table and previous results. Yes it would be lovely to put 40 past teams every week but that's massively underestimating opposition.

| The thing is, Doncaster RLFC in all their guises have been an undeniable and unstoppable force of the sport, and until yesterday had won every game by 40+ points Harlem Globe Trotter style.
It is not, I repeat not, anything to do with people wanting a ticket, a pie, a programme, a pint and change from a one pound note

| For people like Onedon and Double Movement I supported the Dons from 1951 until about 2 years ago through thick and thin even in the tears of sunday bloody sunday.Used to go to away games in Yokshire on the pushbike but now I think twice about how I spend my money approx cost to watch a home game £25-30.It is the comments by such people as you that are one sided and put people off making comments that are not in favour of the Dons

Were your comments not the ones that were rather one-sided and lacking balance? Onedon and myself post negative comments and criticisms on here as well as positive ones but I think it's fair to say we try to be constructive in the points we make.
I've been a Dons supporter since the early 1970s. I've been through the thick and thin as well, which is one of the reasons I appreciate all the good things the club are doing at the moment.
The Dons have lost 5 games in 20 this season, which is the same as Featherstone and better than Halifax. Only Leigh have lost fewer. We can't be perfect all the time but we're doing better than the vast majority. What more can we realistically ask for?

| My two-penneth ...
We were dire in the second half yesterday but fortunately still got the 3 points.
It seems to me (and I could of course be wrong) that's some things were 'tried out' yesterday and sadly in the main didn't come off. This may well have contributed to some very average performances.
I also have a feeling that because we were pretty comforable (twice leading by 24 points) despite not being on top form, we showed the opposition a lack of respect in that second half.
Hopefully, lessons will have been learned and we now move on to a difficult challenge next week at Keighley.

| Thought i'd create an account on here after reading some of the negativity on here. As a Dons fan I keep pinching myself, as we have massively over achieved
Here's afew questions
Did we win sunday?
Did we get 3 points?
Did we win despite playing badly against a team desperate for points?
Are we in the top 4, with a comfortable bumper to 5th?
Are we all proud of how far the Dons have come in the last few years?

Why does it cost you £30? strange, admission is only £13 even less with a season ticket.
But you can,t just come to 1 game in 2-3yrs and make comments about the side like you did.
over the last 4 yrs we are the most improved team in the championship.
from bottom of championship 1 to champions and league winners.
6th in 1st season in championship last yr and now well clear in 4th position
and matching the top teams this year.
It you can't watch this side we have you won,t watch any.
They are by far the best and most settled squad we have ever had.
And good on 'em.
Oh i have been watching over 35yrs as well, and i am still here and as i said once before to the other one that is always winging about the team Mr G.Roebuck.
Times change. But I will always be here whatever happens as long as we have a club. COYDs

I would like you to show me where i have criticised or complained about the Dons team.
The reason I don't go to the Dons games anymore is because I dont like the way the present game is played I wish the Dons & there supporters all the very best for next season in SL2.

| I don't think wahs should be had a go at, I think he comes all the way from Shorpe and stopped supporting on cost, because our concession price is high compared with other clubs.
Unfortunately he picked a good game to return and if he thought it was a rubbish performance he is entitled to say so.
For my part, if we had been twenty points behind at 34-14 and done what Swinton did and scored 22 unanswered points and won 36-34 (which is what the score ended up as) we would have been ecstatic .... so let's pretend we did that.
We didn't of course do that and I suspect that had there been another five minutes Swinton would have won ... but there wasn't and they didn't.
I thought Swinton played spectacularly well in the second half and if they had nicked it I couldn't have denied them on pox grounds, because they weren't poxy and they made their own luck as well as squandering a few chances more.
From the play the ball, they were taking the ball in at speed like demons and showing us how it should be done. We however in attack were slow and ponderously shifting the ball.
Let's face it, if it hadn't have been for my man marvel Wilko, what did we have to offer in the second half?, and he got taken off by way of thanks.
Cookey taking himself off, putting his cue on the rack and then hurriedly returning to the sinking ship (do you like mixed metaphors? ) and immediately throwing an interception was the only source of amusement in that god-forsaken second half.
We missed the Hull lads ... certainly Ben Crooks (not sure why we didn't have him, perhaps someone can shed light) but thank goodness for Sando's boot .....
I thought we lacked go forward power, looking a bit lightweight compared with Swinton and a few of our tries weren't well worked team tries, just individual bits of opportunism which came off.
That lack of creation really struck me, we were Dons-lite on Sunday and the usual limpet-like defence became a limp-like defence.
But we won, but it's not edifying to watch a Dons side blatantly hanging on and praying for the hooter. We are not used to it, which is a testament to how far we have come.
Anyway Swinton played well, both in attack and defence and stifled us ... they should have all the credit.
They must have gone home on the coach cursing. I am surprised that they haven't won more games if that is what they are capable of.
Anyblinkinghow our next game at Keighley is going to be tough if that is the form we are in, because just like Dewsbury away, Keighley now how do a number on us at their place ... it's almost a given.
Need Scotty back, a bit of class from Hull (I would settle for Crooks and Whiting ), but more importantly, I think we need to be Miller-lite (see what I did there? ) ... it's not working.

| Good post S/O.
It is hard to believe that Swinton haven't done better this season considering the effort they put in to nearly do us. They looked decent at their place when we just scraped home too.
On Sunday, we did miss the extra quality that a couple of extra Hull players would have added - which probably confirms the benefits the DR system has brought us this season.
It was hard for Tom Hodson to fit seemlessly into the full back position and we did miss Scotty.
I remember having some bad days at Keighley. They do seem to be a side we can struggle against. Let's hope we have a good day there on Sunday.
The comparison between the Leigh game and the Swinton game just goes to show how fortunes can change very quickly and nothing can ever be taken for granted at this game.
Halifax are at Swinton on Sunday and Featherstone are at Whitehaven.
[iThree interesting games coming up soon are:[/i
3rd August: Halifax v Dewsbury
8th August: Leigh v Featherstone
17th August: Halifax v Featherstone
In the mean time, we need to keep winning!

My thoughts too. He's done very well in the second row for us. I was looking at his profile on Hull's site the other day. I think he's 27 now. He's apparently a good golfer too according to Richard Whiting!
He'd be a good signing if we could get him.

| not saying he can't say it was a rubbish game i was saying you don't stop going because of one game thats the point.
You have to pay travel cost whatever you do on a sunday unless you sit in the house.
I also live near shorpe .
And i am not saying anymore on the matter because everyone is NOT getting the point, so whats the point
