Had a couple of bottles of Spitfire on Friday, very nice.

Had a pint of Three B's Bobbins bitter and two pints of Lancaster Blonde, sitting outside in the sunshine at the Cemetery Hotel before the game. The pub the coach passed before drop-off.
It wasn't as dead as I thought it might be in there.


Much preferable to being cooped up in the bar at Spotland.

I thought that the walkers would come past, but we never saw them.

Loved it at the Cemetery Hotel. Beer was good and the food was spot on. It could have done with the six who resembled, walking wise, the cast from Michael Jacksons Thriller turning up. I would have gladly stood them a drink.

First time in recent years on a jaunt to Rochdale that I've not called in at the Cemetary.

CONFIRMED TOAD BREWERY IS NO MORE. been confirmed on the toad brewery facebook page by marc who worked there that the toad is no more. apparently its all been emptied this week.

Very sad news indeed. when you think how much they sold on donny rovers match days, it makes you wonder how the hell they didnt make it.

didnt concentrate on a few good beers for me, had far too many. i loved toad mature, and i also loved the m & r chocolate stout. my friends all loved the golden angel, although i didnt like that one.

And what is to happen to the Cask Corner Dive Bar?

Cask Corner is ok. although they had the same owners, i believe the businesses were run under seperate umbrellas.

mark says on the post on the toad, that he can be found at cask corner now.

possibly he pulled the decision if toad was losing money. was some cracking ales on two weekends ago and i heard a rumour that the toad was no more then.

Even though they've only been around a short while, they will be missed.

Cask Corner is not affected by this.

Day out last Wednesday at the Great Yorkshire Show (Harrogate) with both Black Sheep and Theakstons again represented.

Had a couple of pints of Black Sheep Ale but once again Theakstons get top marks for their 'have a drink and donate to charity' policy. They also had two brews available that were new to me which was an added bonus ...

Lightfoot, a gold coloured bitter at 4.1% which had peach and honey flavours and Crime of Passion an amber ale at 4.2% which was my sort of 'poison'.

The Sheffield Tap are currently featuring ales from the Hardknott Brewery in Millom (alongside the Thornbridge regulars) and two were sampled on Thursday in the shape of Atomic Narcissus 4.2% and Infrared 6.2%. That was post a visit to Hillsborough / Langsett where Caingorm Trade Winds 4.3% was selected in the Rawson Spring and the Traditional (house) Bitter 4.0% brewed under the Crown Brewery monicker was chosen in the Hillsborough Hotel.

Hopefully visiting Hop & Vine and Wellington tonight Wanderer, will let you know what I manage to sample mate.

popped into the sheffield tap after work last night,oakham brewery "endless summer" 3.4% very nice session beer,so good i had to have a 2nd.
they will be having a selection of "dark star" brewery beers on soon,as they have the forthcoming beer pump clips behind the bar.

last couple of days been in the bankers draft after work,2 welbeck beers have been on cant remember the names 1 light and 1 dark its the new brewery that has been set up at welbeck abbey.also dark star "hophead" which i realy like.will pop into the tap when i finish tomorrow.

popped in the tap after work this evening,box steam "piston broke" 5%,castle rock " harvest pale " 3.8%.had a long day so finished of with jaipur what else!!.
