I really enjoyed myself tonight and some of the true Dons fans took the p/ss out of me , which is how it should be.
They are great fans, we had a laugh.

Absolutely delighted with the result and performance tonight. I was expecting a one sided game and was pleasantly surprised. They scored we scored kind of game and I thought the Ref had an absolute shocker. Some big performances from the lads but the two who stood out for me were Butterfield and Broughton. Wnt be at the Halifax game due to work but I am confident after todays performance we can get 3 points COYD

I know I have a different view to most from my little hidey hole behind the sticks, but I thought that last night was probably our best performance of the season, and it was a good advert for the game, spoiled by some indifferent refereeing.

Several players stepped up to the plate so to speak, Mick Butterfield had his best game in a long time, and wasn't afraid to run the ball into contact. Brooke Broughton was excellent when he came on, and Shaun Leaf showed why he is one of the best tacklers in the team when he sent Yere backwards.
Thought Fawcett was quiet, but Wildie and Blackmore fitted well into a makeshift backline for us.

If we put the amount of effort into the rest of the season that we did last night, then we'll pick up a few more wins, and had the bonus point been offered to us prematch, I'm sure that every one of us will have taken it.

Best game of season for me,

BuTterfield, Kes and Emmett were outstanding , but everyone played really well.

Ref was poor BUT had we helped ourselves a bit more with some panic / daft decisions we could have won that.

Just need to understand that if a ref is not going to give you certain things such a ball being reefed etc then you have to respect the ball and do the simpole things like play the ball right.

Not many teams will get a bonus point there - so got to be delighted.

Looking forward to Monday and I hope now Butts keeps his place at FB.

Couldn't make the mathch last night, sounds like i missed a good game.

I must admit to not knowing our new additions apart from Adam Scott.
You're's a million miles from the pitch at Don Valley so it's not that easy to spot who's who.
So looking forward to seeing these new players closer up.

The team certainly had better balance and was busier in midfield.

I slagged the ref, but really he was good for us at times chalking off a couple of their tries.

I also couldn't understand why Sheffield turned down two kickable penalties at 12 points in front.
That would have put us out of the bonus range late in the game.
Too confident or not bothered, but strangely non-killer instinct.
Good old Eagles, Mark loves us deep down.

I'll only say this once.

I feel sorry for Aston and co. They've lived a nomadic existence throughout the last 29 years and although DVS is the pits for playing and watching RL, at least it was somewhere they could rely on and of course, they are the other, less well-known, South Yorkshire team ( ok, so they did win the Challenge Cup once

), so we should be concerned for their welfare. Yes, I know they have Bramall Lane, but how permanent is that?


They have consistently over-achieved, as evidenced by our being happy with a narrow defeat to them. Aston has done a great job.

I don't think I could be considered Mick Butterfield's biggest fan but I thought he was the best player on the pitch last night.

Y not say it as it was the ref was absolute sh...te mr cob certainly had the cob on with us through out , aston said before the game that we would try and slow the play the ball down ref mite have been aware of this comment and acted accordingly but he forgot that two teams play rugby the fracas at the end should have been a red card not yellow . now the plus points glad to see TM and broughton have kissed and made up he had an excellent game and my unsung hero was chris spur 110% both in attack and defence kesik played like he had somthing to prove against his former club , butts played like he aint giving up that full backs jersy easy , in fact could not fault any player cept the two times when we should have let the ball go out on the full but knocked on instead . no way did i think i would be repoorting a summary of the game like this one play like that and we will do ok roll on monday , btw we took a girl friend of my sons to the game and she is hooked her first taste of rugby league and wants to come on monday, another fan

The team that played last night looked to have points in them as an attacking force, something that has been lacking of late.
To increase this flair even more Waterman should go back to left centre immediately.

Another big game Monday , I will be happy if the players give 100% . Will be interesting to see how many changes Tony will make with Castle, Cooke, Robinson, Edwards , Tuffour & Waterman hopefully available , may depend on Wakefield.
