Been to the Half Moon Inn at Willingham by Stow ( on the B1241 between Gainsborough and Lincoln ) and sampled their rather wonderful Grafters' Wobble Gob. Liked it so much I brought the rest of the barrel home with me! The brewery is in a shed next door and the chap was adding nutmeg, cinnamon and candied peel to their Xmas brew, Greetings, as I waited for him to decant mine. Smelt divine! Never had a bad beer yet from there.

Toad Tadpole, Toad Mature Toad and one from the brewery which I hadn't tasted before, Leaf Kicker 3.8%.

A couple of pints of the ever-reliable Thornbridge Lord Marples in the Pivni WBF.

A seasonal Thornbridge brew Wild Holly 4.8% in Harkers.

Great Heck Final Judgement 4.1% in Judges Cellar Bar (reported as brewed specially for the bar).

Woods (Shropshire) Christmas Cracker 6.0% in the Maltings.

Not a bad drink all day

Had some Robinsons Unicorn yesterday at the Duke of York near Flagg and the Cheshire Cheese at Longnor ... very nice when you've been walking in the p/ssing rain all day long.

Gary tells me he is going to spend less time going to Dons games this season so he can devote more time and money to drinking.

no problems with the booze SO - it's just that the red wine is actually good for you - just polished off a Côtes de Rhone Villages 2008 @ €1.65 a bottle - keeps the ticker in good shape and gets me pi**ed at the same time ! seems common sense to me !

i'll send you up a case next time my mate goes up to Leeds - he'll drop it off at the Keepmoat for you - do you prefer red,rosé or white ?

Brief jaunt over the pennines today yielded a couple of pints of Prospect Brewery Blinding Light 4.2% at the Cherry Tree (formerly the Thatch and Thistle) at Blackrod.

Sampled Dark Side of the Toad 4.1% for the first time earlier this week in Cask Corner.

In the Sal on Monday, had a pint of Wee Shimmy (3.9%) between Black Sheep and Bombadiers; very nice indeed
