How do we have 5 Dual Reg players listed in the squad?

Seems to go against the operational rules stated below

I guess that only 4 will make the matchday 17.
Although the rule would suggest that we shouldn't have 5 in the 19.

Interesting point Adam, the way I read it, I think it says that 5 players can be in the squad if they're either on DR or on Loan but only four can play. That seems to suggest that one of the five we've list as being on DR must officially be on loan or else we'd be breaking the rules.

Either way, only four of them can play.

It seems puzzling that the RFL have different stipulations for DR and Loans when there's nothing in the rules that seems to suggest why a Loan is different to DR, apart from some minor rules regarding the recall of Loan players.

I must admit my interpretation falls in line with Wanderer's on this and after much deliberation have decided to email this to Carl. I don't want to tell the man his job, but it would not be the first time we have run afoul of Dual Reg Rules and if we are unaware and play too many Dual Regers in the 17 a points deduction will be unavoidable and to be perfectly honest totally deserved.

In the 2018 squad section on this board, Wanderer had Litten and Sanderson down has loans from Hull for this Season. He subsequently removed them from the squad due to a club announcement. Not sure how much a grey area the whole DR and loan business is but I recall CH talking about it on a previous ITD, it seems the club should know what they are on with.

As an aside it would be nice if these official announcements could be accurate wouldn't it?

It looks more professional and saves a lot of confusion and worry for those of us that have some understanding of how these rules work.

I thought that must be the case, Adam. Like you say, it'd be helpful if everything was listed accurately in the first place.

The main difference between loans and DR is that Loan players must be loaned for a minimum of 4 weeks, where as dr can come for just one game

Sanderson,Litten,Osborne and Jordan Lane were your original loan players
My take on it is as Osborne is injured and unavailable and Jordan Lane is currently in the Hull FC starting 17 and likely to stay for a few more weeks then its probable Jack Downs and either Miloudi or Jack Logan have now been signed on as loans leaving one D/R space.
For you info Logan is looking really sharp and stronger having missed last season with a bad injury.He will star for you tomorrow
