| And that’s why people don’t post on here anymore because no one else is allowed an opinion
People ask about crowds and other people give serious replies and then you get blown out of the water because of it.
I just think why the hell should I bother either and lots more must agree or they’d be down there like the old tattersfield and belle vue days because if you’re not in the clique then pee off and don’t bother us

| Another top class performance by a well organised Dons team. Good defence, quick to follow up kicks and opponents left on their backs in tackles. The attacking play was sharp too. Newcastle certainly didn't lie down and attacked hard throughout the second half. I don't suppose the weather conditions were conducive to a bigger attendance but those who stayed away missed a treat.
Being in the West Stand helped the fans feel more connected with the dugouts and for once the off-field officials had somebody to wave their numbers to at the interchanges. The interchanged players also seemed to benefit from the close presence of the fans.

| Quote ="big grimmo"Good result but not only is it a cold Friday night but the gate price was £15.
Is it better to have 700 paying £10 plus whatever programmes beer burgers etc they would have or 350 paying £15 and thinking hold on I’ve already spent a bit tonight ??'"
I don't suppose many, if any, more would have turned out had the prices been reduced. For some reason evening matches no longer seem popular and cold, damp evening matches even less so.

| Great game last night. Every player put in a massive defensive effort and the attack was again very sharp, and more importantly varied.
It could've been 40-0 had Liam Harris not been held back by a Newcastle defender in the last minute. I know he was 40 metres out but there was no catching him.
The Dons must now have a massive target on their chest for the likes of Bradford, Oldham and York.

There was a kick through I noticed in the second half, where the first two players to the receiver were the two props. Didn't give the attacker much space either.

| Great defensive effort led to a comprehensive victory.
One concern was that we picked up a few knocks , Howden ,Owen & Cross that I noted.
Harris & Owen caught the eye , surely Harris is the best signing of recent seasons .

| Worth every penny of the £15. Worth getting frozen too.
Fair play to Newcastle, they looked very fit and very willing. They kept going to the very end.
The defensive efforts of the Dons were great. They were intense in all they did and seemed to be working well as a team. Even when the subs were made, it didn't seem to affect the cohesion.
I agree that Liam Harris has been a great signing. Every player seems to have improved since last season. The props are clearly eating spinach and Jordie Hedges must have been convinced he's as strong as a prop!
I must mention the levels of fitness for both sides really. They're a credit to themselves and their clubs by the way they get themselves into shape. Their bravery is awesome and one of the reasons I've enjoyed watching rugby league throughout my life.
Richard Horne and the rest of the coaching staff deserves a huge amount of credit for what they've done. We're creative and inventive in attack and a tough nut to crack in defense.
The York game should be a cracker with a decent crowd too. I'm really looking forward to it. And we've got the draw for the next round of the cup to look forward to as well.

| Quote ="AdamH"A pity more people didn't see it. A very good performance and one of the best in terms of all round play.
Nice to see we held a dummy half up over the line this time.
Extremely pleased as before the game I thought these would be at a similar level to ourselves and saw this game as a potential banana skin tbh.
Ps It is always nice to nil someone isn't it?'"
Stopping their dummy half going over was very pleasing after the try we conceded against Whitehaven. I thought it could be a banana skin too. I was hopeful before the match but not overly confident, especially after what Newcastle did to us last season.
Towards the end especially, I felt it was important to keep them to nil. It must give a team a huge amount of confidence. Confidence and self-belief is so important in sport. There are a few things we now need to focus on:
1) We need to be able to play like this away from home as well as at home
2) We've got to be able to play with the same intensity against the very best in the league (perhaps York and Bradford).
3) We've got to be able to bounce back if we lose a game too.
I'm really heartened for all the players and the club that we've got off to a good start and I'm really pleased for us (as fans) too. Even if we don't finish in top spot, we should all be encouraged that a top five finish is well within this side's capabilities, which means that at the end of the season we will have a very realistic chance of going up.
We shouldn't get carried away though because injuries can be the ruin of many a good side.

| very satisfying result last night.excellent defence, you can see a lot of work has gone into it in training.starting to see some regular moves also.a well done to Richard Horne and his assistants.considering some voices on this site did,nt rate him or his recruitment, even said that Newcastle had recruited better that we had.i think last night proved they we a little short of the mark.also last night proved who the poor cousins at Club Doncaster are, they did,nt even open a refreshment kiosk on the concourse for us.once you were in the ground you had a great hike back to outside bar to get a drink.

I'm sure you're right Bonaire. Without DR we'd certainly be thin on numbers at some points during the season. Having the tie with you means that we should have that base covered.
Richard Horne is the right man to make sure DR works well for both Hull and Donny.

| Rovers have done us a right favour playing Monday and making us have to move to Friday. Games getting called off today and not a lot of slack in the fixtures between now and the next round

| Thought York would do Swinton, but surprised by the Haven result. They obviously needed a reaction after their defeat to us and got it
