Three lots of fish and chips in one day could be pushing it a little bit but it sounds like a good challenge to me.



I'm looking forward to Sunday but I'd rate our chances as no better than 25%. We've got to start showing that we're capable of beating the best in the league though. Only two teams go up. Toulouse are almost certain of one of those spots unless they have a major injury or suspension crisis. It's realistically then one from Rochdale, Barrow, York and the Dons for the other spot.

Sadly I don't think we're the best team amongst those four but the structure of the league gives us better chance of going up than we perhaps ought to. I'm a firm believer that the top two prove they're the best teams over an entire season, and it's cruel if they don't go up. Although the league structure does slightly bring my theory into question as all teams don't play each other home and away; which is ultimately the fairest way.

Under the present structure, we have a chance and we've got to try to grab that chance as we really don't want to be in this league next season. I fear for season ticket sales and attendances for next season if we don't go up.

I wonder if the chap who ripped up his season ticket in front of the fans at the Barrow match will be paying at the gate on Sunday?



PS. No it wasn't me! I'll be there for next ten years, I'd imagine (regardless of which league we're in).

Would much rather see two up two down throughout the divisions, sadly our game isn't going to adopt that anytime soon. Personally I think a breakaway from the Rfl by the top clubs, funded by TV, is on the cards, in the next few years.

No it is difficult to argue, for my two penneth of chips, I have to side with Whitbys. They are superb, from there.

'Dire' indeed H, I've got to choose a chippy ut of four recommendations ! I wa weaned on top F & Cs what with Lowestoft harbour & fishmarkets down the road when I was younger so i'm quite discening in my old age. This is serious stuff but back to more mundane things like RL.
Toulouse are beatable and i'm sure GT will know their weaker areas. His plan worked well in France but too many silly errors from Donny let the French in when they were under pressure.
Thi could be a close game tho' I still fancy the extra quality of the French will be too much for the home side. MOM will be Rhys Curran who is an unsung hero but top quality week in week out. Prediction Donny 14 Toulouse 32.

One worrying aspect was the poor crowd , looks like some fans have given up on the 2016 season .

Good effort, but effort isn't going to be enough, we look what we are, a top half team, not quite good enough.

100% effort from the lads today - couldn't fault them.

Agree with hkr, we're a top half team but not good enough to challenge the better sides in the league.

This season might not quite be over yet but it'd take a remarkable twist of fortune for us to go up -we'd have to play out of our skin and others would have to have off days We've got to aspire to be as good next season as Toulouse are this season.

The crowd was disappointing. I guess it was a backlash from the Barrow defeat.

Paul, I think part of the problem is the fact that until a few weeks ago, we didn't know what the fixtures were. I missed the Barrow game (probably a blessing) and I miss next week, simply because I had to make decisions when I couldn't know if we were home or away ... I'll wager I'm not alone.

I fear that a continuation of this philosophy will cost the sport many supporters.

I think we got what was expected today a good effort from the players but totally outclassed, there is no way we are in the promotion race and next year we will be in the same boat ie replace toulouse with toronto, unless we recruit well over the winter (not going to happen) then this time next year we we be where we are now. The crowd , or lack off one, speaks volumes for our crisis. Im trying hard to find some positives , but to be honest from what Im seeing there aint none. Another year in this pathetic league does not appeal to me, (unless the structure is changed home away fixtures for all the teams) Toronto coasting to the top of the league, Someone please tell me Im wrong. Felt for the players today, Outclassed .

Entertaining game with Toulouse showing too much quality in the end. Donny were superb and better than the 20 points difference. A lot of effort which matched the French for much of the game.
Disappointing crowd must have enjoyed the performance despite the los, it's no disgrace being beaten by a better team on the day.
The ref didn't help with some inconsistency in the first quarter but he let it flow eventually to allow both sides to play some nice stuff.
Loads for GT and the lads to work on and all is definitely not lost so get behind the team for the next game.

More importantly, re the fish & chips - Whitby's was the first one of the list I found and I have to say the F & C were absolutely sublime............Britain will remain 'Great' as long as the fish & chips are as good as that !!
