A far cry from the effort against Workington, no lack of effort today, but creativity again was sadly lacking, it's been our Achilles heel all season. The writing is on the wall now, I can't see any way we could get enough points to stay up, would love to be wrong, but sadly I think the fat lady is tuning up.

We are not relegated yet and need the true fans to stick together for the sake of the team. Some posters sound like those Southend fans who streamed out of Wembley before the final whistle on Saturday and then tried to get back in when they heard about the equaliser.

Today's performance was generally better than in some recent matches but we still need to cut out silly mistakes and try to find some guile from somewhere. It was good to see Richard Wilkinson back and Shaun Leaf had a good game. But we are deficient at stand off. I'd like to see Tom Hodson tried there. His pace is wasted at the moment where he is and when he comes in to first receiver there is rarely any space for him to exploit.

Watched until 16-4 down and then switched over, know where you are coming from S-O everyone except the management team and the head in the sand brigade knew what was going to happen after a close season lack of recruitment. We had a belter few seasons but too many thought that the job was done, hope things do change and there is a rebuild and upturn next season but I really can't see it and I fear it may be the end of the road as a viable team
So peed off how things have turned out this season even family members who have never shown an interest in rugby tell me how crap we are

How i see things is this! We had tony miller back on board today?? Why?? No dis repect loved him as a coach but times moved on if we win today hes hero if he coaches till end of season n we go down its paul cookes team!
Today the team picked itself no dr players which is what weve been asking for! Lets get someone on board n start laying foundations for nxt season because we are as S/O said doomed!

Exactly, the bloke was asked to help out in the interim and to his credit stepped in. I've just read Steve Hossacks take on the game in his match report for The Star and it reads better than I expected. IMO the 6 and 7 slot need game time together (both have had it tough so far with injuries and match fitness and should be stuck by) A settled team now would be good to see in the next few weeks with a regular 9 and 13 before the new Coach comes in and we get chop and change again. (understandable for a new coach to do) On a personal view I was pleased to read from the fans that went to Blackpool that Shaun Leaf did well, its annoying he decided to call it a day at the end of the season and I hope that given a few more run outs he may change his mind.

I concur. These are two of our biggest issues.

Another however, is a lack of leadership on the field (this may well be down to a lack of confidence). It was picked up and highlighted during the TV coverage that when we concede a try, there is very little, if any, talking whilst the opposition is lining up a conversion attempt, just heads dropping. The team spirit evident in the past couple of seasons appears to have completely evaporated. To have any level of success we will need leaders and a good team spirit out on the pitch.

Im not knocking tony i think it was good of him but i dont want like they do in football someone in place till end of season id rather get the new coach in place and build for next year let him work with current players and see who he wants to keep and who he doesnt lets get a head start for nxt season.

We need a half back maybe someone could talk paul cooke out of retirment??

Nice thought, would love to see it, but I think there's more chance of my boss letting us have a 60 inch plasma tv with sky sports for our canteen at work.
